I wish that I had never walked into this place. Being a chef myself, I love supporting family owned establishments. I read the... reviews and I thought that I would love this place, but nothing could be further from the truth. The place is falling apart forstarters, and my guest shared her concerns, but the owner's wife was welcoming, so I said, "Lets' give this place a chance," sowe stayed. Nothing went right from this point forward: Items listed on the menu were not available, the wait staff wereinattentive (I had to clear my own table twice), odd ingredient choices by the chef/owner, who, by the way, was seldom in thekitchen, but was constantly working the room. All of their tomato sauce is sweet - not just a little, but like candy. Theirresponse was that this is the Sicilian way of preparing tomato sauce. It was too sweet and detracted from the food's flavor. Ido not know a single Italian that would agree with their recipe. The waitress took her time to check on us and by the time shedid, we had eaten some of the dish, because we were tired and hungry and just wanted to get out of there. I discussed my concernof the sauce with the waitress and she got the owner's wife, who had greeted us earlier. I will spare you the detail, but it gotreally ugly fast. They kept insisting that we stay and that they would give us desserts. I said that I didn't want a dessert, that I just wanted to leave. We felt like prisoners. Finally, they brought me the bill after much back-and-forth. I paid my billand left with my guest. The chef/owner followed me out of the restaurant while yelling at me and telling me that I was ahorrible person. Although I felt charitable to this family, they were very rude and in my opinion, have no business running arestaurant. All they want is your money. The food was as poor as the service and I truly have never been treated so poorly in my50 years of restaurant dining. Gordon Ramsey... Please take notice of this place. They need your help. I had another great meal at Restaurant Filippo! I got the fish and my friends had veal, everyone commented on how great it was.... Also, the oyster appetizer is the bomb. Atmosphere, service and food were fantastic. Also , visited with the owners who couldn?tbe nicer. I will be back soon. Read more

The experience at this establishment was conflicting. The staff were very friendly and we were seated at the bar due to a long... wait list. The bartender who served us was rather friendly and chatty. The baked oyster appetizer we ordered was unique but notsomething I would regularly order; it was considerably small for the price but overall a positive experience. The majorshortcomings came with the fettuccine Alfredo we ordered. We were waiting for what felt way too long for it to arrive and it wasdisappointing at best. The sauce was bland and of a quality that could be described as poorer than store bought. The frustratingfinisher to the evening was when we got the bill and discovered they had charged us essentially the price of a whole entree toadd shrimp to the pasta. It disappoints me to say this did put a damper on our evening. Read more

Excellent food. Fantastic atmosphere. I had the chicken parm and was very happy. I don't agree with salads on appetizer plates,... but seriously there are worse things you could complain about. Read more

Food was good , but the service was bad. The gentleman could not handle all the upstairs tables. Between the bread , the drinks... and the food , it all show up at different times. Kept asking the waiter for everything. Next time I'll try the bottom floorand see if we get better service. Read more

Food is amazing, but get it to go. We had the Pasta with Meatballs and the Veal Francesco. Both dishes were really good,... especially the meatballs. The issue we had was with the service. The restaurant is two stories and it appears the servers aregiven tables both upstairs and downstairs. This seems to stress out the servers based off what we saw. We watched two serversget into an argument in the middle of the upstairs dining room over where a plate of food went. Our order was then broughtupstairs by someone who appeared to be working expo and was delivered to the wrong table. The people sitting at that tablestarted eating the food from one of the dishes before realizing it was not what they ordered. The staff then brought the pastawith meatballs but we had to wait on the veal francesco to get made again. As dinner continued we continued to watch the staffstruggle and I am pretty sure one of the servers was high based off his behavior. Like I said, the food was amazing, but I wouldget it to go. The veal Parmigiano is smothered in a rich red sauce. A bit sweet for me, but a large portion if perfectly cooked angel hair... pasta. The meatballs are Hugh! The sauce is meaty and less sweet than the veal sauce. Have been many times. Service in the pastwas much better. Read more
