Bad experience today. The restaurant was almost empty and when I asked to be seated with my husband in a booster I was informed... that only more than 3 people are allowed to use the boosters even when the restaurant is not full. All the boosters were emptyduring the dinner ???? No make any sense. No everything should be black and white. When you go to a restaurant you are payingfor the dinner and also for the place. Our server told us to ?leave her more tip because it was embarrassing not to leave as much? , even though we told her we would... tip in cash , and she didn?t know we would leave her even more than suggested. she came up to Us saying that the bill had beensplit and the amount of tip is not what was suggested. I have never heard of such a thing of asking for tips ????? We did haveenough to tip , but what if it would?ve been someone without enough to tip taking their father to lunch for Father?s Day , is itokay to embarrass them like that ??? Let me start with saying the food and service was good, my 2 star rating is not due to that. It's upon receiving my bill (see... picture) they have a red circle stamp which if you read carefully states gratuity included. At first I didn't notice orquestion. Then when paying I realized the bill was higher than what it should be so I reviewed the receipt again. That when Isay the service charge of $29.33. I asked the server and she stated that was due to a party of 5 or more. I mentioned to herthat either the menu should specify such or at least let us know since it just kind of hidden in that round circle stamp. Moreimportantly the stamp reads gratuity not service charge. Unless you read very thoroughly you end up paying a double tip. Justfelt like we were being taken advantage of. I went here as I've been driving past this restaurant for a few years and have never eaten here. The food was pretty good. The... seafood barbeque or mariscos de paradilla was very good. I actually ate this pretty quickly. I also had some crab cakes as anappetizer. They were lump crab meat and pretty good. This came with a small salad and some sweet plantains. I have never had a bad experience, I always receive the... best of services, Eugenia is the best server, she is fast, she helps to select the best option on the menu, she always has ahappy face and best of all, the prices are better compared to other seafood restaurants.
