Everything about this place was great. The waitstaff were super nice and attentive, the food was inexpensive and I think... bountiful isn't enough of a word to describe the incredible amount and the restaurant itself is great and cozy. This was anamazing experience. My dad and I both ordered the Fried Pork Chunks and there were at least 5 the size of my fist (and I'm a bigboy y'all) and the tostones we ordered were enormous too plus fries that filled the rest of the plate (about a foot long plate). And that was a $13 plate of food somehow. My dad loved the mamey shake he ordered and I was a little sad to see there wasn't abanana shake but I ordered a Jupiña which was super satisfactory in place of a shake. After everything was said and done wecouldn't have had a better outcome I believe. Included here is a photo of what we took HOME. And that's crazy because usually Ieat everything a restaurant serves. Pan con lechón is more like sliders. It was more bread than lechón, horrible and disappointing. If you guys don't want to feed... people then just delete our orders and close lol. And stop making deals of buy one get one free if you can't get the rightportion sizes. Also please wear some hair nets in the kitchen I think that's the least you can do for customer service. The restaurant was empty when my husband and I arrived we sat down hoping to enjoy a nice meal together but instead the server... ignored us for about 10 minutes then so called server Giselle thru 2 menus on the table without saying a word walked away toclean tables with no one sitting there came back to our table and I quote asked "you gonna order" and walked away even quicker.Such a rude experience from that server no customer service what so ever not even a hello or I will be right with you juststraight attitude. Never have my husband and I ever been treated in such a rude way and made to feel as if we were disturbingher from tending to empty tables Soooooo rude. We ended up just having a side salad and leaving. What a way to ruin what shouldhave been a nice meal with my husband. Read more

I came to this restaurant to enjoy a good dinner with my wife. There is a waitress by the name of Giselle that works midnight... let me tell you this is the most rude person that I ever had to deal with. She comes to the table and doesn?t look at you orsay a word of good morning or nothing when she did ask about us being ready then she didn?t even wait for an answer just turnedaround and started wiping down other tables. Then I asked her how long she has been here and with a very bad attitude thereplied 1year so then I told her that I have never seen someone with that attitude and she looked at me like I was crazy andwalked away. Then I asked for a different server. But server?s like her will end up spoiling your whole day plus the food youtry to down. Plus the place was super empty we were the only ones there. Please when you come here make sure you don?t get herbecause she is going to mess your day. Read more

NOT ADA COMPLIANT: DENIED SERVICE BECAUSE OF SERVICE ANIMAL. From the moment I walked in the hostess gave me a very visible... judging face. Without even a hello, she told me to read the sign at the door that no dogs were allowed? what she failed to seeon HER OWN sign was that it says ?except service animals?. I informed her my dog is a service dog and showed her the properdocumentation as well. She simply said ?no?. This is a federal offense. If they can?t read a sign about service animals maybethey can?t read about sanitary or proper food measures either. This was a discrimination of myself as well. Even though I don?thave a physical disability, of which I don?t have to disclose to a rude hostess just to get a croqueta, there are plenty of nonphysical disabilities such as PTSD, epilepsy, diabetes, heart issues, etc ! After giving this restaurant a few chances since it?s one of the few open late, i?ve decided no more. My husband and I ate there... this morning and the waitress was in a bad mood or something. We were waiting for our bread, when she walks past us and takes itto the people that got there after us instead. We thought it was weird so when she walks back we ask her for bread as well andshe didn?t even look back and walked away, bringing us the bread later with attitude. We were both genuinely confused and waitedfor our food for about 30 minutes (keep in mind we both ordered sandwiches), she then proceeds to pour bleach on the floor andHOSES down the other half of the restaurant with us in there. It was getting difficult to breath because I have asthma. Wewaited 10 more min for our food to come out, we paid and we decided to leave. Horrible experience, I don?t recommend this placeto anyone not even as your last resort. Read more

Update (2 Stars, 7/20/2022): I had to come update my original review (see below). Sadly, the quality of the food is no longer... very consistent in the mornings or afternoons. Even when giving clear instructions of how you'd like eggs cooked (for example),the cooking staff ignores your requests and you have to send the eggs back once (or twice) to get them cooked to your originalspecification. Fries/tater tots will often go just barely cooked (still a little soggy or undercooked) rather than crispy andwell made. When order things like vaca frita, they'll just barely crisp the meat rather than let them crisp fully and thoroughly(as you should). Originally in my 2019 review, I noted amazing service provided by the old guard including Martica, Yanely (nolonger employed), and Yuleisy (all 3 are/were morning staff). A lot of their new hires are NOT as welcoming, loving, and specialas their old hires; they don't provide the standard of service I had come to expect from Latin Restaurant. Frankly, I think theCOVID pandemic hit Latin very hard and ultimately has caused their quality both in food and service to diminish horribly. Ibarely go around anymore even though I'd love to go back. I can no longer in good conscience recommend Latin Restaurant whenthere are better places in the same price bracket such as Casavana (both for their food and service). I hope things change forthe better soon. Original (5 Stars, 2019, Attending Since 2014): I work across the street at FIU's Engineering Center so Ifrequent here A LOT. The 10% county employee discount applies to students which is always appreciated. One of the things thatkeeps me coming back here is the ambiance and the service. It is top notch and the staff comes to know you if you frequentenough. Breakfast is always good, so is lunch/dinner. For the price, you get WAY MORE than you paid for. Popular routine isvisiting for lunch then keeping the left overs for dinner because they serve a lot and you will NOT be mind Read more
