Reviews for Montecatini - Italian Restaurant Kendall, Miami in Miami, FL
Small and very popular Cuban Italian fusion restaurant. I liked the casual environment and table setting. We had a 12 people... dinner party for my sister’s birthday. The Cesar salad was fresh and delicious, also the white sangria. But, I ordered afetuchini with lobster as a side, but they also included salmon because I wanted with salmon first, but then I changed tolobster, well…I got both and I ended paying for a $45 fettuccine I didn’t like and I didn’t finish, because it wasextremely salty and greasy and on top of that I had a food poisoning immediately after. I wasn’t the only one that didn’tenjoy the main dish, the rest of my family didn’t have a good experience either. Maybe was also the more than one hour waitingfor the food after placing the order. Unfortunately we didn’t have a good experience. But, maybe you will. I don’t think isa bad idea to go, people go and waited to be seated, it is popular I can say. I’m sure food is good for other tastes and wejust had a bad experience, might not be like that to everyone. Read more

Not being a fan of Italian food made me hesitate for so long before I decided to visit this restaurant, however it is definitely... one of the most distinguished restaurants in the area of Kendall. No reservation is required. They have capacity to accommodatea large # of clients following COVID 19 protocol. The ambiance is excellent, the main room is considerably nice, even when Ialways chose the lateral side. I love its decor with plants. The staff is very professional and efficient. The treat can't bebetter and their recommendations are always good. I have tried calamari but didn't think it was great, however in my last visitI tried the filet mignon, special recommendation by the chef. It was extremely good. Its presentation was impeccable. Itstexture and flavor were outstanding and exceeded all my expectations. Completely worth it. They desert exhibition is amazing. Myfriend tried an apricot which seemed good, but I didn't even try since I go on strict diet (keto) and asked for a beautiful anddelicious cappuccino with no sugar. Overall I had a great experience in all the 3 visits and look forward to having lunch inthis place again. Read more
I visited this restaurant for my birthday with my family. We were a total of 7 including my 3 year old niece. The staff and... service was amazing. My niece spilled her juice and the staff quickly cleaned the area and brought her another one. The food wasexcellent we all had different dishes and each one was delicious. I had the Parmesan wheel spaghetti and it was the best pastaI’ve ever had I loved it. The portions are also nice and big you will definitely get full. They even brought out my dessert(creme brûlée) with a nice sparkler candle and sung happy birthday. I will definitely be coming again. Read more
It’s an ultra Lux Cuban/ Italian restaurant that is best described as serving your favorite Mac and Cheese with Lobster meat... and aged Parmesan cheese (not that they serve that). My point is this, if you love to taste a reinvention of your favorites, this is definitely a place to start. If you have a palate of a 5 year old such as myself who searches for the classic comfortfoods of your youth then this place might not be your choice. Don’t get me wrong, I did enjoy most of my meal but it didn’tquite hit my nostalgia button for the street food or peasant style cooking you might get when you are hanging at your friend’splace and his cuban grandma just makes you guys some homemade croquetas or that run down street cafe by Calle Ocho where you canget a greasy pan con bistec with all that salty steak fries from a can. Another thing to have in mind is cheese, if you hate itlike my mom or just lactose intolerant then make sure to tell the staff when ordering. We didn’t see it listed as aningredient in the menu but her seafood fettuccine was sprinkled with a generous portion of Parmesan. I would have loved it butshe did not. The kitchen quickly made her a substitute and I told them I would take it home in a box since it wasn’t reallytheir fault and I didn’t want somebody to have that taken out of their paycheck (some places will do that to their waitstaff). After that little hiccup, my mom reported that her dish was perfect with pasta made al dente and seafood mostly fresh (she isvery picky and hates dishes made with frozen seafood especially lobster). My steak sandwich “ Pan con Bistec” was made witha finer cut of beef versus your cheap stuff from your Latin Cafés and layered with tomatoes, Avocados, and Arugula or Spinach. One thing that I didn’t like was the French baguette they used; I enjoy my lighter Cuban Bread with the salty steak fries andheavy dollop of mayonnaise. But again, for those who want a fancier and healthier option, this is not a bad way to go. Read more
