I love the uplifting purpose of this coffee shop. This is from their web site "We are a non-profit corporation that runs a... coffee shop in a facility that provides vocational training, education and employment opportunities to adults with intellectualand cognitive disabilities." Adults with cognitive and intellectual disabilities are twice as likely to be unemployed as thegeneral population despite having skills and the willingness to work hard. The mission of Our Grounds is to provide self esteemboosting meaningful jobs to this underserved segment of the community. I have had Our Grounds bookmarked forever but the timingnever worked out right because they close kind of early, at 4:30 everyday. I was finally in the area at the right time and I amso glad I was able to stop by this lovely coffee shop for an afternoon java fix. They have a cute little patio area outside anda welcoming interior with couches, tables, and chairs. They provide wifi so you can work as you sip and nosh. The menu includesa variety of coffee and tea drinks, croissants, toast, bagels, and baked goods along with weekly specials like ice cream bySweet Lichs. I ordered an iced latte and an almond croissant. The latte was delicious and the croissant was very fresh. Theywere perfect afternoon pick me up. You can support Our Grounds by visiting the physical location but you can also make adonation on their website. They are looking for volunteers and local businesses to partner with them. Had the turkey jam, avocado toast without bacon, cappuccino and iced latte with caramel with my wife. Good food, and great... coffee. Nice staff and as well as a chill ambience in this place. Also like their goals as a non profit????. Will come again. Read more
