I had heard good things about Red Rooster Overton but it exceeded my expectations on all counts. Great ambiance, inventive and... tasty cocktails and each dish more delicious than the last. We shared cornbread and then had the yard bird chicken and porkbelly with plantains for main courses. Both incredible! A sweet potato side and macaroni and cheese straight from the gods.Somehow found room for the skillet chocolate chip cookie and you should too! I finally made my reservations and got to try out this gem in Overtown. Everything was absolutely delicious. The lemonade was... homemade and came in the most adorable glass, biscuits and curry butter was heaven sent and the French toast and chicken andwaffles was scrumptious. I ate way too much!! I couldn't stop ordering off the menu it was all so delicious!! I haven't had an old-fashioned that good... since my Grandma's Christmas party. It wasn't Grandma's obviously but let me tell you that she would have been proud. Theservice was stellar the ambiance absolutely amazing I can't remember the last time I've been in such a classy fancy funfantastic place. I can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. I had the octopus which was seasoned deliciously andcooked perfectly. I had the pork belly and plantains which were succulent, tender melt in your mouth delicious. And I didn'tstop there I ordered the collard greens because I had to have them which just blew me away I have not had collard greens so goodsince my Sister's. I've never found collard greens at any kind of establishment worth a pile of anything compared to my sistersbut these ones blew me away I know she'll slap me when she sees me but that's all right. And I just couldn't contain myselfafter all that I had to go ahead and stuff myself some more with the macaroni and cheese and the fried green tomatoes. Red Rooster offers some tasty comfort foods in a pleasant setting. The Rooster is a surprisingly large restaurant with outside... dining and a decent sized bar. My bartender was so friendly and welcoming. Service was slow but once my chicken arrived it wasvery juicy. I wished my chicken sandwich came with fries rather than chips. Read more

The food was so delicious I couldn't even take pictures of everything we ordered. We ordered one of every appetizer and every... single one of them was incredible! The we order two more corn breads after the first because it was so good! Great atmosphereand beautiful restaurant! Came here with some friends to celebrate a birthday and it was an amazing experience. Service was great, Steven was our server... and he explained the menu perfectly. I noticed many people got the chicken and waffles but I got the Ragout instead. It wasreally flavorful, kinda tasted like a Haitian legume. The deviled egg as were very flavorful, served cold with a mustard basedreduction and a crunchy piece of chicharron. We also got the cornbread to share along with some oysters. I’ll definitely comeback to experiment as it was a great experience. Definitely worth checking them out. Read more
