Fantastic service from a long-standing local drive in. Our server was super nice and shared some of the restaurant's history... with us. The homemade root beer was great, and it was super fun to receive it in frosty glass mugs. If you're pretty hungry, order a double burger, as the regular one was fairly small. A fun stop on our travels. Read more

quick stop, excellent service! Chicago Dog was spot on. The fried mushrooms were tasty (no dipping sauce needed), perfectly... fried and not greasy. Root beer was cold and refreshing (get the Float). only knock is that the float was not soft serve. when I'm back in the area I will be going again! Read more

I'm a little confused by the stellar rating for Carlson's. There was nothing wrong with our visit, but I can't give it 5 stars.... The burgers were fine, but not anything to rave about. The fries were disappointing. The onion rings were fine. The root beerwas *awesome* (especially if you like it to be vanilla heavy). The price was fine, the service was good. Overall, I was leftwith a sense of disappointment. Read more

This place was just okay. The burgers and corn dogs were probably the best things we got! We also enjoyed the root beer even if... it's not our favorite. Our food seemed over-fried and tasted a little burnt. We also got the fried veggies, which were veggiesthat were battered and deep fried, not at all what I expected. Might have needed a change in oil. One thing I was not happyabout was the annoyed tone I was met with when I asked about ingredients in some foods. I explained that my son has a coupleallergies. We don't ask questions about ingredients for fun, but out of necessity. And no, we don't expect to be able to eatanywhere or for places to cater to us, but it would be nice to just get information instead of being told "I don't know". Thewaitress was nice about it even if her manager or cook wasn't. She told us they get asked often. If that's the case, I don'tknow why you haven't asked your supplier about the ingredients in your foods. Read more

Good old fashioned drive in! I thought the building looked kept up with compared to how run down some drive ins are. There?s... some picnic benches to sit outside otherwise a large parking lot if you want to eat in your car. The service was very fast andwaitress was great. We had root beer served in a chilled mug, chili cheese dog, hot ham and cheese, and mozzarella sticks. Allthe food was good, nothing amazing and the prices were very fair. Read more

Old school drive in diner. Old school root beer. Corn dog is crunchy outside and great inside. Slaw dog and Kraut dog are... great also. Front of stand is in need of painting but that is just a maintenance issue. Vegetable sampling bag. Read more
