I took my 90-year-old grandmother here because she loves cheese and potatoes. She won?t stop talking about how much she loved... it. The people were friendly, the environment was youthful and hip, and they have delicious craft sodas. Will definitely comeback next time I?m in town! Read more
If you?ve ever craved a sense of comfort with a sense of whimsy, The Whey Station(ary) should be placed upon your short list.... Tater tots and grilled cheese sandwiches are the main attractions, and for good reason - they are lip-smacking andindulgent! Pictured is The Shorty, which is short ribs wrapped in a five cheese blend, garnished with garlic aioli andcaramelized onions, which was astoundingly good! The cook made certain to put heaping helpings of each ingredient and thencrisped all of the extra cheese that melted over the sides. It was like being a kid on a ditch day at home with mom combinedwith the feeling of a summer weekend as an adult. Also seen here is the Avomelt, guacamole, bacon, and more garlic aioli.Incredible! The tater tots were uniformly crisp, as well. Unique beers were on tap, the restaurant was safely spaced, and theservice was incredibly attentive. Bravo! See you again and SOON! Read more
Learned about The Whey Station from a Food Network show, everything was really great! I recommend the Brussel Sprouts anyway... they serve them. Short Rib grilled cheese with tomatoe bisque amazing. Staff wonderful, following all safety protocols. Thank you. Read more
Got a notification on my phone from Google Maps that I should try this place. Ended up going with a co-worker and wasn't... disappointed. Got the Barlow with Cheese Bacon Tons and Avery soda and it was delicious. Great location and atmosphere. Theplace has a wheelchair accessible entrance and seating, not sure about the bathroom since I didn't need to use it. Can't wait togo back! Read more
1st time here & sadly, the last. The decor was dia de los Muertos inspired w/bright fiesta-like colors, which was fun! Our... server, Kiely, was friendly & pleasant . They don't offer beer flights. We went w/ the Alvarium Ecto-Cooler & a Spoke + SpyTepache Mode cider. They were wacky colors, which was surprising & cool! Hubby thought the ecto was ok. I had a very difficulttime finishing the cider. The sample was good - full pint, not so much. There was a spicy floral taste we couldn't pinpoint.(the drinks aren't their fault) For apps we had the spinach-artichoke dip (came w/ housemade chips - aka Irish fries) andBruffalos (buffalo brussels). The dip had chunks of artichokes (yes!), but was very, very cream cheese forward and had zeroflavor except A LOT of black pepper, so much you could see it ontop of the dip. Dip bowl was super hot, but the dip, not somuch. We disliked it so much that we didn't finish it. Brussels were decent, but needed slightly more buffalo sauce (imo) asthey were very lightly coated & maybe add a little more blue cheese crumble. Split the Ella sandwich & tots. Tots were super hot& crispy. Everything seemed ok w/the sandwich (bread was crispy, buttery & warm), until you took a bite. The prosciutto insidewas fatty & COLD. The fig jam...COLD. The cheese was already starting to "congeal" when we got it. Super, super disappointing.Grilled cheese is suppose to "string" when pulled apart - not this one ????
