My fiance works in Middletown and had tried Crystal's for the first time and enjoyed it so much he wanted the family to try it... so we went Sunday for the football deal 20 wings and 2 sides for 20$ which the girl at the front said they didn't have noworries I had seen it online she did say they had a game day special 8$ off your order ok thank you. ( she never gave us 8$off) We had a large order 18 wings (6 wings salt and vinegar they was ok ) (6 more champagne with extra sauce they barely hadany sauce) ( 6 more champagne parmasan and no sauce just parmasan sprinkled on top), chicken roll which came with no sauce todip it in and asked for extra, the side of bacon cheese fries, cabbage, and Mac and cheese was good along with the seafoodwings! I called the Manger when we returned home since we drove a hour there and he wasn't sure on how to handle it and asked meI said I wasn't sure since i usually don't complain but with the amount of money we spent I thought id let you know and he saidoh OK thank you for letting us know. Service was great & food was good needed more seasoning on sum food like the fried salmon but the Cheesesteak egg roll was 2 die... for the best thing I tasted from there! Will b back!!! Read more
My initial experience was not good. Fried chicken wings were hard and over cooked. I threw them away. Sides were not flavorful!... I will give them 1 more try. Hopefully this was just an off day. Read more
One and done! Saw the restaurant on Instagram and thought I?d give it a try. When entering the store the first thing u notice... is cleanliness which they get a C-minus grade wise. They have employees standing around not busy on their phones while theyshould be cleaning. The windows are all dirty and signs are crooked plus the equipment and cook hood behind the counter are indesperate need of a great wipe down. I ordered a fried fish sandwich and they served it with two pieces of potato bread and notarter sauce I also order the Mac and cheese (which was days old) French fries that was hard as nails and the seafood wings thatcame with no real crab meat. The food was average at best. Needless to say I was very uncomfortable eating comfort food. There?snothing worst than a restaurant with tremendous potential that?s badly managed I suspect this place will be closed in a year orso unless they shut the place down for 30 days and give it a thorough cleansing plus redo the menu and rebrand the newestablishment I hope whoever owns this place reads this review and start taking this restaurant seriously. The meals @ Christal?s Comfort Food is always delicious. However; today?s meal was not as satisfying. My wife and I ordered the... fish sandwich and the wait for our order was unusually long. We ordered around 1:30pm we received our Oder approximately 2:03pm.The fish was ether over cooked or cooked in old oil. See photo. Read more
The service was friendly and excellent. Since it was my husband's first time there, the menu was explained to him, and he said... the food was delicious. He ordered 12 wings with honey mustard sauce and fries. The wings were fried to perfection and they werebig and tasty with the sauce. He was so glad that he made a visit there today! Read more
So comforting, it put my whole family to sleep after eating. Upon entry to the restaurant I was greeted by the entire... establishment, which was refreshing. I?m all for Soulfood. The wait was all of 30 mins, but how can you rush perfection? This isa restaurant not fast food. The owners were so friendly and dropping so many jewels. We chatted for quite a bit. I was so proudto see and meet the owners and just to congratulate them for their efforts. The atmosphere was just all around great energy. Thetime had flew right over my head. Everything was perfectly flavored. You could tell the food has been seasoned. I?m so mad wedidn?t try a sauce. That?s the first thing I?m trying when I go back. We ordered chicken wings, mac and cheese, cabbage, yams, asoul bowl and of course a lemonade and a Iced Tea. Everything was amazing. The cabbage was everything. Like when I say she puther foot in it. I absolutely love their food! My favorite probably has to be the cheesesteak fries, I mean, I generally really love Philly... cheesesteaks and to make it into cheese fries combo is brilliant! I also liked the chicken sandwich which I?ve had occasionally.The wait for the food is not that long. Unless it?s really busy, the most I?ve ever waited was around 20 minutes or so.
