Tried to get lunch today. Waited 10 minutes, then went to a worker in a black shirt. He said there were only two people working... and he would be with us when he could. Also, someone in a blue shirt delivered food to another guest near us and neveracknowledged us. We left. With the amount of competition in the Middletown area, this is not good business. Read more

In about 15 years since I've been a grotto's. The quality of particularly at this location has gone way downhill. The wait... service was adequate at best. We had Italian sub and a chicken cheese steak and a bowl of onion soup. The sub was nothing close to an Italian. It was so dry.... No cheese. No salt pepper or oregano. No oil. You know, I used to really love Grottos. Now I'm down to just liking them. Tonight I ordered a personal pizza. I got... pepperoni and anchovies and I asked them to tell the people in the back to not be shy about the anchovies because I seriouslylove the things. My pizza arrived, but I was taken back on how FEW anchovies we're actually on it. The lady who brought it,not our waitress, told me that was EXTRA anchovies. No lie.
