Went on a busy Sunday morning and this was our first time. Even though the restaurant appeared to be short handed and there was... a wait, the entire staff was friendly and service was excellent. The hostess had an amazing, upbeat personality and a greatsmile for everyone. Once we sat down, the waitress came right over. The food came out faster than we anticipated and wasdelicious. Our waitress was super attentive and we were so happy we chose this restaurant. It will now be on our list when wevisit Newport. Well done Blue Plate Diner!! Read more
If your a fan of traditional morning hearty breakfast, this is where you want to be. The corned beef hash and 3 perfectly cooked... eggs with morning potatoes was simply the best breakfast I had on my 4 day tour of the area . This hash is NOT out of a can.Real hand cut and shredded hash with potatoes that didn't come out of a machine. Better than my dads....(r.i.p father)...Nolunch before 11am though. Great little neighborhood diner for breakfast ! The staff is super friendly. Great omelets, pancakes and coffee. The home fries... are done in a Greek potato style, and they are amazing ! I highly recommend, you won't be disappointed. Read more
Great diner-type food in a restaurant setting...not a traditional boxcar type of diner, but it hits all the right spots they do... just as good. Food is excellent. Prices are decent. Breakfast was so good here. Friendly service. Definitely going back. Read more
So happy we found this place! There's nothing like a good, old fashioned diner, and Blue Plate did not disappoint! Between us,... we had eggs Benedict, turkey club, waffles, and fries, and all of us loved our food. The service was great, too! Read more

Ate here a couple times while in town for work. Had a good breakfast and quick service the first time. Came back for dinner... another day and had the meatloaf with potatoes and veggies.
