We stopped on our way through. We went to the taproom for food and a flight. Grounds were garden like but weren?t maintained.... The food was fine. Side portions were small unlike other reviews lead us to believe. Came in a side cup like a condiment wouldcome in. Beer was fine. We asked if any of the beers were sour beers and the bartender said no and that was the end of it. Wepicked others based on the name. Would be helpful for the traveler to have someone willing to describe them or interested infinding out what we liked and then making a recommendation. Bartender was not friendly at all and made us feel unwelcome. I wasnot greeted when I came in. If it were my husband who walked in first we wouldn?t have stayed. Five stars for the beer and service. All of the beers I tired were fantastic. Service was good, prices were on point. If... there was any compliant out would be that the menu was small, but the food itself was really good. Never thought to put dillin coleslaw, but I will now! A hidden brewery gem in the Shenandoah Valley. The event center is spacious enough to accommodate a wedding reception. The beer... is on point. Everything from IPAs to Stouts. TL;DR: if you love beer and hate the environment, maybe the place for you, otherwise, not so much. While the beer may entice... some, those that care even a little about the environment should avoid. All food served - on premises, not to-go - is served inmassive Styrofoam containers with an array of accompanying single-use plastics. All non-beer drinks I saw were served inplastic. There is no recycling. In short, this place is gratuitous-waste central - almost as though they're single-handledtrying to destroy the very environs that are the only aesthetic draw to their location. First off the scenery and location is awesome. The beer is top notch, the Mr Pats Abby Ale was my favorite, the Bay Nut Brown... was the runner up. The food was really good. The Pull Pork sandwich was very tasty with the coleslaw. The Angus Cheeseburgerwas very good. If you are Middletown, VA you must stop by you will not be disappointed. Read more
Nice place good beer. Don't be fooled if it looks closed, the taproom is behind the main building.
