Had a Memorial service for my daughter -under the events section.The staff was wonderful,and friendly,with great service in a... great place. However I was surprised that the event manager requested cash or check payment just 15 minutes before the event. Mycredit is excellent and offered credit or debit card,but Event manager said NO,only cash or check. This could have been afiasco,if my friend did not lend me the $1,000 dollars needed.Who carries that around in this day and age.Be aware if having anevent to pay up front. Sounds like common sense has eluded the Event Manager.That is why the 4 star not 5 star. Staff andservice was great,and very friendly. Read more
Wedding and reception done. Turned out really great after some anxiety over timing of set up the morning of the event. Tammy... was great to work with. Friendly staff. The food, including breakfast, was delicious. Better clear and specific two waycommunication and written confirmation on timing expectations would have helped avoid the anxiety. Stayed here as part of a Harvest Host experience. There is a huge field out back and we were able to park with no issues.... Plenty of space for any size rig. Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, it was a Friday night and they had some live jamsgoing on that were great, the food was good as well! We were pleasantly surprised to discover that they also offer a ghost tourof the location and even an amateur magic show. Excellent way to spend an evening when you are in the area. Read more
We came for dinner and a ghost tour. Both were great. The food was good and the ghost tour contained a lot of historic... information about the inn. Our ghost tour host had a great presentation. This small trip was a break from the hustle and bustle of Northern Virginia and DC metropolitan area. If you're looking to take... a brief trip back in time, the wayside inn is the perfect place to start. Rates are great. Beds are very comfortable, rooms haveplenty of space to move around in. This has become our go-to place for Thanksgiving. The way they arrange several seatings makes it an unhurried experience. We... have been able to get a table large enough for extended family. When the weather is nice, having a chat in the rocking chairson the front porch makes it worth an early arrival. Read more
