While in Midland, I was looking for something open late at night since I was hungry, and the Maple Canadian Pub happened to be... near me and open, so I decided to eat there. I took a seat at the bar and since they are known in the town for making a greatBison burger, I decided to give it a try. Even though the burger was not on their late night menu, the staff and the chef werekind enough to make an exception and they decided to serve it for me. The staff there seemed to know many of the people at thebar at a personal level, which I thought was pretty cool. Some of them were regulars who lived in the area and one of them wasfrom Mississauga who comes here regularly to visit his grandparents and to get away from the city. The staff and the customershere were all very friendly and nice to talk to. The burger was incredible. It was a 6oz Grilled Bison Burger with SmokeyCheddar, Tempura Onion, Chipotle Ketchup and Beer Mustard. Everything went well together, and it tasted extremely fresh and verylean. I really enjoyed the burger. The fries were hand cut, seasoned, and made fresh in the kitchen. It was very good. The stafftold me that this burger is one of their lighter items, which I find tough to believe, since I was quite full from eating justhalf the burger! My poutine was extremely salty, and my chicken wings tasted like it had freezer burn. My friend had to wipe the salt and pepper... off her fries to make it edible. I did not want to send my food back , because I didn't want to risk it to be returned to mewith a Little something special if you know what I mean (no offense to the pub I have trust issues from watching too manykitchen nightmare episodes). I was hungry so i ate it and will now drink a few liters of water and pray i don't swell up like ablow fish. This place has potential but the waitstaff needs to act like they enjoy being there. Clean the tables after peopleleave and have a clean table ready for new clientele. Wipe the lipstick off the wine glasses. I?ve eaten at both locations and this one was horrible. We both ordered steak. And the cook literally sliced it in half. So they... were super thin. Over cooked. Breakfast steaks. Worse meal ever!!! I LOVED this place. First, the House Beer is really good (the one I am pointing to in the menu photo). I usually try different... beers in a bar but I had to repeat this one. We got the Bison Burger and it was delicious. I was very impressed how wellseasoned it was. We poutine was sooo good. Amzing gravy! The service was perfect. They gave a great suggestion when we did theorder and we even got beer on the house. My least favorite item was the dessert. If you are on Midland please check this plaxeout!! The food was delicious. Drinks were nice. Waitress was good. Place was clean with a nice atmosphere. Decently priced for a pub.
