From what I understand, Grub Burger's chain was bought out by Hopdoddy. Given the state of things before the buyout and minor... remodel, I thought that the new name and ownership would improve things. I was incorrect. Given the economy, I'm used to seeinginflated prices. But this was a new level of it, given the quality. The burgers themselves were average, but I don't know ifthey're $15+ on their own good. Adding fries costs an additional $4.50, and my tray was cold, containing had a mix of somehowhalf overcooked and half undercooked fries (ie, some were sad and floppy, while others were too crisp to bite). Add another$3.50 for a drink, and your per person cost is $23 before taxes. For this price point, I'd expect the food to be good allaround, not just around the same quality of food I could get from say, Wendy's. The store was no overly crowded, which while Iappreciate not having to scream to my dinner guests to get a point across, may speak volumes of similar experiences that otherguests may have had in the past, leading to poor turnout of customers. I'd like to see improvement of this location, as whenGrub first opened it was easily my favorite place to get a burger, and I'd like to see that level of quality once again. Read more
Tried the spicy chicken tenders. Flavored one side of the tender and caramelized whatever sugar they added or syrup? Was an odd... taste but as much as we paid I wasn't going to just let it go. At least my son enjoyed the sweet potato fries. Read more
This is probably gonna be me new go to burger place. The food was great and the whole vibe was very enjoyable. The shareable... portions are amazing and an interesting thing is they have caffeinated ketchup. I will need to try their shakes next time Ivisit which will hopefully be soon! Read more
This place will test your level of patience from order to burger turn over times. Then you'll have to fight your way through a... barrage of flies trying to get a taste of your medium rare center cooked chicken burger. But hey the fries were pretty dope ???? Read more
OK the debate is done. Sorry but Grub is 10 times better. I had the flavored fries was not impressed. The seasoning was good but... it seemed as if they left fries under the lamp for to long then tossed them in the seasoning. I shall call them "Stale Ranchfries". I ordered the mushroom burger. There was alot of goat cheese. Didn't taste the mushrooms nor the meat. Meat was reallywatery, (not savory, "watery") really under cooked. Not very flavorful considering it was goat cheese and mushrooms. I wasn'timpressed by the gormet vibe. I was charged seperate for the burger...drink.... Oh and fries also charge seperately. Not manychoices either. Staff was great. I don't believe my visit or the food was worth the cost. Family and I agreed a return visit inthe future is not probable. Hopdoddy is off our restuarant list. Kelly the manager was super helpful and came to our table to bus and request feedback. The food was delicious and so were the... milkshakes. I?ve had Hopdoddy?s in Austin and this was even better (and faster) service. Great experience. Read more
I had been wanting to eat here for awhile and finally had the opportunity. When you walk in, you quickly realize this place is a... little different. They have menus on the wall along the entry way, you place your order before sitting down which makes thewhole experience much simpler. No waiting for a check after you finish. The food was great. The burger was nicely prepared andtasted amazing. The fries were hot, nicely salted, and seemed to disappear much too quickly. All in all, great food, pleasantstaff and a comfortable environment. I will 100% be going back. One small issue with the time there, for whatever reason, theair conditioning was off the afternoon we stopped to eat. Normally not a huge deal but it was 98 degrees outside and a littlestuffy inside. If this was due to mechanical issues or management choice, I don't know.
