Was in town over the weekend and stayed at the Scottish Inn nearby. Looking for something to eat we called Joey's Pizza and very... glad we did. We ordered I think was the 16" large pizza and I believe that was the best pizza had eat. They delivered in timelymanner. The pizza was large enough to fill 2 adults and our 3 children with still a couple pieces left over. Everything aboutthe pizza was great from the topping to the just right crust. Also got a order of the mozzarella sticks and they was the same. Idon't think could have gotten any better. All for under $40 which is what we have in fast food with all 5 of us. Customer service was lovely..and also better then my meal. So I got a gluten free pie a couple weeks ago and it was really good. The crust was crispy and thin, and the sauce was good. So... I ordered a pie tonight, and it is disgusting (just soggy and powdery). They must have changed their crust or something? Verydisappointed. I hope they change it back to the good crust! Read more
So, some of my 5* reviews are because the places I went to are absolutely exception. Most of my 5* reviews are because the... place was exactly how I expected it to be and I have no "real" complaints. Is Joey's Pizza anything really special? No. I'm fromNew York and have been to Chicago and been to Italy. The pizza is pretty regular - though it's still very tasty and satisfying.But it was exactly what I expected so I have no complaints there. Is the food reasonably priced? It's expensive overall butpriced adequately for the area and the cost of just... generally everything right now anyway. Was I shocked to see the prices ofthe food I ordered? No. They were exactly as expected, all things considering. Is the place fancy? No. Is it clean? Yes. Is itcomfortable? Yes. Are the people nice? I think so. There's one person who works there, Marie, who was super cool. I loved thatshe wasn't over-the-top with her customer service, her attitude was chill and calm, and she was friendly without seeming to befake. She was very prompt and efficient! And she came around the counter to put our food on the table instead of having us getup to get it (which was nice). So thank you, Marie! Joey's is a very regular pizza joint, good for a quick bite or sometakeout. It's not the best pizza ever and it's not a 5 star restaurant but I don't think it's really going for either of thosethings. It /satisfies/ and honestly, I think that's just fine. Read more
We were regular customers. We placed an order tonight for 1/2 regular pizza 1/2 with mushrooms and black olives. We also ordered... an eggplant Parm, garlic knots, and poppers. We received the pizza and it was clear that the driver drove a bit fast becausethe cheese was everywhere. No big deal. I picked up a slice and the pie was soggy...like uncooked dough. I could only salvagehalf of the normal slices for my kids. We give the pizza place a call. Well, the manager on the phone told us that mushroompizza will always be soggy so we live really far but she could get another pie out to us IF we give her the full pie and sheliterally said the second pie would be the same since mushroom pizza is always like that. We've spent a good deal of money withthis place but no more. John's of Arthur Avenue always gets rave reviews and probably doesn't treat their regular customers theway we were tonight. Read more
First time going to Joey's Pizza, ordered a Sicilian Pie and a large pie with bacon and pepperoni, OUTSTANDING!! Very... delicious, best Pizza I had in a long time around here. The crust, the sauce was excellent!! Will definitely be going here andtrying other menu food! Prices were reasonable for what I ordered. Everyone enjoyed the Pizza. Read more
