Solid, slightly elevated comfort foods accompanied with great service and a cozy atmosphere. If the staff weren't dressed for a... fancy night out, you wouldn't think it was that upscale from just the menu. Beautiful structure, and landscape. Once inside you get the full aroma of the smokehouse. Make reservations either online, or... by calling. Wished we sat out in the covered patio, but we were seated next to the biggest fireplace I ever seen. Front of Housegreeted us immediately after being seated. Drinks ordered: The Old Fashion 5 stars for how strong it was, Raspberry Tea sweetafter adding some sugar. Appetizer: Crispy Calamari & Shrimp 5 stars, was delicious. Entrees: 1-Marinated Skirt Steak withTruffle Fries, 4 star steak was good but wasnt a whole lot of it. 2-Smoked Baby Back Ribs with fries, 5 stars smoked reallywell, and was delicious. Also ordered their Mac n Cheese with ham, 5 stars hands down the best cheesiest I've ever had Dessert:5 stars for The Smores Pie, WOW that was heavenly with the torched marshmallow. What an amazing experience at Buckeye Roadhouse! Stopped in after a hike in Muir Woods. Service from Jack at the bar was... incredible, he made one of the best Flying Sombrero (mezcal paper plane) and Naked & Famous cocktails (mezcal paper plane w/Chartreuse instead of Amaro) Food was exceptional. Ham & Jalapeno (added) skillet Mac and cheese. The bartender recommendedadding the cheese stuffed pasilla pepper from their chicken dish to the burger, which is completely mouthwatering. The burgerwas on the rare side of medium rare, which is how I prefer it. Side of spinach was also awesome, shallots instead of the usualover-garlic oily spinach. Amazing experience! Will be back with friends! Also huge shoutout to server Alex for stopping by andchecking in on how my burger was. Very good meal. We tested the Sandwich with coleslaw and fries , fried onions, calamares. Prices are average. Very historic... place and a warm atmosphere. Another room in second storey. Friendly staff and good and fast service all the time. Read more
Amazing!! The food is very impressive, the interior is warm and cozy like a cabin but open and spacious. The staff are very... quick, friendly, and made the best recommendations. I had their brisket and lemon pudding - in the UK sense of pudding. I couldeat 4 of these at a time I think, it's that good. I can't believe I kept driving past this place thinking it's just a"roadhouse" - if you haven't been, you won't regret a meal here or taking visitors. Read more
Buckeye is top tier for Marin dining. Best experience is in the bar (if you can get a booth or a seat at the bar!). Love that... you get the classy 50s roadhouse vibe and can watch a game. Eating in the dining room or patio is very nice as well. I can’tNOT order the Oysters Bingo, it’s delicious. All their food is pretty spot on, especially off the smoked section. Read more
One of my favorite places off 101 to stop for a meal on my way to/from San Francisco. Their interior feels cozy but not... crammed. Our favorite dishes include the bingo oysters, the grilled spiced chicken and their burger. Anything we've ordered hasbeen delicious and cooked with great taste.
