A business colleague and I had a work week in Ontario 2 weeks ago (from the SE US) that started with an overnight in Milton. We... chose Casa Americo Italian Bistro and were so glad we did! From the authentic calamari appetizer to our main dishes to dessertand a custom digestif...everything was a culinary delight. I can't forget our host, the owner, who took great time to welcomeus, got to know about our travels and made some excellent suggestions. I was really looking forward to dinner at Casa Americo after reading all the great reviews here. Was seated quickly on the patio... and enjoyed being in downtown Milton. I started with the Calamari Diablo. Sadly, it was so chewy I couldn't eat it. I tried 4different pieces and they were all the same. If the pieces were small, it may have been easier to eat - but I couldn’t biteit without using my hands to help rip it in addition to my teeth. When the waitress brought out my meal, I let her know that Iwasn't able to chew it and she could take it away. She asked if I wanted to bring it home, but I said no thank you, that Icouldn't eat it. Next I had the steak with marsala sauce. The flavor was ok, but cooked exactly as I asked, so that was good. The veggies didn't have any seasoning, the mariana sauce with penne was excellent. I should have just ordered the pasta and mymeal would have been great. Another woman came out to ask what was wrong with the calamari. I told her it was just too chewyto eat and she told me other tables had it from the same batch and didn't complain.. She said she'd talk to the chef. When shecame back, she told me the chef and others from the kitchen tried some off my plate and said it was fine, that calamari shouldbe chewy. I let her know I wasn't looking for anything for free, I just couldn't eat it, I've had calamari in many places andthis was too chewy to even bite. She reminded me again that it was good. I found the customer service very frustrating. Ididn't even send it back, I just asked for it to be removed from my table. I'm very easy to please and can enjoy almostanything...but to be told over and over again that I was wrong left a bad taste in my mouth for this restaurant. Read more

I had a lovely lunch on their patio. The pasta dish was great. I ordered penne with chicken and a glass of red wine. The service... was friendly but slow. I would not want to rush through a lovely meal here anyway. Read more

Came for dinner with a group of 5 and had a great time. All the dishes were delicious! We asked for modifications on a couple of... the items and they were done exactly how we wanted. Each dish had its own unique flavor and nothing was bland as may sometimesbe the case in other places. The service was friendly and attentive. Will definitely come back again ! Read more

We had the Jambalaya and Lamb Chops. Presentation 9, Taste 9 and 6 respectively, Atmosphere 8.5 and Staff 9. Very friendly and... caring staff, the meals were served warm and perfect timing. The tables were cleared timely and I would visit again to try othermenu items. The taste of the lamb chops didn't wow me nor did the Cosmopolitan. However I would still recommend Casa Americo fordate night coupled with a stroll arround Mill Pond. It was overall a very romantic experience. Read more
