My Wife and I went here for our two year anniversary dinner on 7/3/22. We had a reservation at 7:00 PM and we were seated... promptly with great care from the wait staff. We had a small wait but come on its a busy time on a busy day its to be expected,the wait was less then usual overall. The bread was delicious and warm and the Shrimp Cocktail tasted great! Salad was lightand refreshing and cleansed the pallet very well for the main course. That's about were the positive ends I'm afraid. I got anunder seasoned, though well cooked Ribeye steak that could have been perfect if it was cooked with a little salt and pepper. Theside was garlic mash and it was watery mash with minced raw garlic mixed in. All in all very disappointing main course on myside but for my wife? Well she ordered the surf and turf. Its a lobster tail and the filet minion. the Lobster was straight upsour and tasted like it was going south fast. the Filet she had ordered medium well and received a blackened and browned charredpiece of meat that was butterflied. The wait staff did let us know it would be butterflied however I didn't think the cook wouldcook it for just as long.... it tasted like a burnt hockey puck. The appetizer was amazing and set us up for a great night,however the main course was just about a waste of money. Some may say its a harsh assessment, but when I do end up finding themoney to take my wife out on an amazing night out; I don't want to have to make a correction or ask for something to be donecorrectly when I'm paying for a higher level of service then that. We (my wife and myself) were staying at the casino for the week end. We wanted to try the Steak house (CV). We made... reservations for 8:00 PM sitting. We are at our table by 8:00 PM. We had our own bottle of wine and we had to open the bottleourselves. Note $15.00 corkage fee. If the restaurant had any meal specials for the night we did not hear about them from ourserver. We order to pasta dishes that came with a house salad. When the salad arrived, the server drop off the salad andwalked away. We noticed that everybody else in the restaurant was offered fresh ground pepper for the salad but we did not getoffered any pepper for our salad. When the pasta dishes arrived there was nothing special about them. The server did offerfresh ground cheese and after asking for pepper she did offer it for our dishes. Near the end of the meal the busboys (therewere two) starting removing dishes from the table that were not finish with. They try to take my wife dish and there was stillfood in the bowl. We went for mother's day with my folks. It's their go-to restaurant for celebrations. Overall, I find it okay there, but it... probably would never be my first choice. The staff is nice and accommodating. The menu was a tiny bit limited - I think theydo that just for holidays. I had ribeye steak with baked potato. No choice on the vegetable - everyone received asparagus,which I don't care for. The steak was actually pretty good. The potato was served with butter on it instead of on the side,and it was way too much butter. For four of us with two drinks and no dessert, over 200 bucks. If I'm going to spend thatmuch, I'd probably spend it somewhere else. The restaurant is always crowded, so i know a lot of people really like it, it'sjust not my favorite. I'd rather eat at Katie's, their restaurant right next door inside the casino. Read more
Just adding my high marks for a wonderful dinner. Mostly my filet mignon was cooked to my specifications (?rare plus? as our... waiter Francisco called it) perfectly. I also got the al gratin potatoes because they are known for them. I was mildly surprisedthere were only three asparagus and on red pepper on the plate as a vegetable but it did come with a wonderful dinner salad witha lovely house dressing. This restaurant is situated in the Carson Valley Casino. It has a very traditional feel and the weightstaff was excellent. It is a popular place so make a reservation! I felt my steak was very close to any I have had and I havebeen to Ruth Chris. If that gives me any credence to say so. Read more
