I tried 2nd Street on Uber eats and they completely messed up my order. I was extremely disappointed but I decided to call the... restaurant and let them know about my experience. I spoke with the owner, Greg and he apologized. Greg then offered to make me anew sandwich and have it redelivered. Greg personally delivered my new meal free of charge and the new sandwich was definitelymade with love. Great food! Great Service! Before I knew that they delivered directly, I was using uber eats. The first few times were good.... Then last week I had a bad experience. The uber driver picked my food up, and instead of driving from the deli to my apt inCarle Place, she kept driving further and further away into hempstead. An hour later uber cancelled the order. So I called 2ndstreet deli to find out if the driver actually picked up my food. They said yes. So the driver kept my food for herself (prob bcthe food is so good). They asked me if I'd like to reorder the food and that they would deliver it. Of course I agreed and 30minutes later the delivery guy arrived. But it wasn't just anyone...it was the owner! He apologized (which he didn't need tobecause it's not their fault) and wouldn't accept my tip! Top notch service. I just ordered from them directly. The food arrivedhot and in 30 min. 2 days a week I am home with my 8 month old and love ordering a breakfast and a lunch sandwich to get methrough the day. 2nd street gourmet has been my go-to. Easy to see right off of 2nd Street servicing Mineola and the adjoining areas of Nassau County. Metered Parking on the street... is available but it fills up fast during lunch time. Clean facilities. Moderately priced. Credit cards accepted. OnlineMenu. Food is OK. Staff is OK. We will most likely be going back. Read more
The best deli on the island ! We just moved across the street and my son and husband go in everyday ! The owner and his nephew... are always so cool and they never forget our order. We'd be lost with second street ! Ty for always giving us the best food ! Read more
Second time here .. First time I had the bacon and egg and then came back later and had The Chicken Cutlet Hero.. I?m back... having the breakfast platter.... Nice setting with lots of room. Great architecture in an older building. Food is good especially the cobb salad and real Italian... sandwich. Not a fan of their potato chips. The staff is helpful and friendly. Read more
