Dong Hae is a fantastic restaurant. The service is impeccable and the food is amazing. It is great fun to cook your own food in... the center of the table. We usually pick one of us to be the chef for the night, or you may order dishes prepared right off themenu or both. All of the food is very fresh. We love the Kimchi pancake and fried rice on the side with our grillselection. Dong Hae is a family favorite and an easy location on Washington Ave. a block from the Guthrie theater. Five ?????!!! The amount of food you get for the price is pretty decent but it's still a bit pricey so bring your family and friends! We... ordered the marinated beef combo and were a little disappointed because not all of our short ribs or sirloin were marinated buteverything was still good. Service was pretty good although it took a while to place the order, luckily we didn't take too muchtime eating so it didn't cause any issues. I hope to come back and have an even better experience because I did enjoy my time. Read more

The quality of the food is pretty good and decent portion size but... Over-priced! We paid $111 for pork belly BBQ for 2 people... with kimchi stew and makgeolli. There were no paper menus available and the online one took forever to load. Extra charges forrefills of the side dishes kind of spoils the Korean BBQ experience but that's just inflation I guess. ??????? Read more

It’s not the same Dong Hae Korean BBQ I used to know. Food: 4.5/5 Quality tender beef and fresh seafood. Marinated just right,... not too salty. Portion seems to be small (probably due to inflation) with higher price. Service: 3/5 Waiters used to serve foodthe first round but they don’t do that anymore. Their service charge is automatically 18% for group 5+. Waiters no longer weartheir restaurant uniform. Our waitress wore yoga pant with open belly top just like she came out of a yoga class. Also note theycharge 4% for card payment. The new location has a convenient parking but have to pay for $5/4 hours. If you happen to dine outon Vikings game night, it’s hard to find near parking as expected. It took me half an hour to find a parking spot. The newlocation decor is not as nice as it used to be. The vibe is no longer there. Given the price of the meats hike up and the notso great dining experience, I’d hesitate to come back. Read more

Wonderful place for lunch or dinner! 1 block from the Guthrie AND 1 block from the US Bank Stadium. The meat was good quality... and generous. There was just two of is but the BBQ for 2 could easily feed 3 or 4 even paired with an app. Authentic Koreancuisine and we are lucky to have this nearby. Check it out a tasty and healthful meal. Honestly, I'm not one to comment on restaurants or services. Service: 5/5. All the waiters were very kind and checked up on us... a lot. It was a fast service, which doesn't mean low quality food. It was our first time so we asked one of the waitress forhelp, which she did. She gave showed us how to do it and gave us tips for the best grilling experience. If we needed something, waiters would give us it such as forks or to go boxes. One of the waiters, Lee, made our experience really enjoyable. He madesmall talk and made sure we had everything. Food: 5/5. The food was fast. Not in cooking fast, but they all came out fast. Thequality of the food was so good, my mom even compared it better to a Korean BBQ in Las Vegas. We got the Black Bean noodles, marinated BBQ, and bibimbap. We did order a lot, thinking it wasn't that much food, but for the price you do get a lot of thefood. It was so good, would come back here again. Read more

I think overall this place is not too bad. A lot of the things were pretty good. We took a friend here for her birthday and... got the AYCE Korean and sushi. Most of the sushi is pretty good and the appetizers were spot on. We got spicy tuna rolls, mackarel nigiri, rainbow roll, some appetizers, and some other random ones (I think we ordered one of every specialtyroll). The good stuff: The goods far outweigh the bad and I try to be as fair as possible! The mackarel nigiri was great aswell as most of the other specialty rolls. The spicy tuna roll was also excellent, it tastes better than other AYCE places Ihave been to. The highlight might have been the spicy tuna rolls to be honest. The people serving us were also nice andattentive, it seemed like they were super busy.. Meh stuff: The seafood and kimchi pancakes were a bit cold, but they weren'ttoo bad. I think they would have been better warm. It was a little disappointing because I LOVE getting the seafood pancakes(pajeon). The bad stuff: The ones I would avoid was surprisingly the kimbap. The meat ratio was way too much (to the pointwhere it was overflowing) and you might say "who wouldn't want more meat?". But I think with kimbap there needs to be a balance, the excess meat made it a bit dry. The rainbow roll was a bit dry (like the crab meat was dry for some reason) and kind ofinedible so we didn't finish those... I think overall this is a 4 out of 5. Good customer service with a decent selection ofKorean food and sushi for their AYCE menu. I would maybe come back again for only certain specialty rolls and what not... Andavoid my favorites.... Kimbap and pajeon. Food: 3.5 out of 5. Environment: 5 out of 5 (nice and clean). Customer service: 5 outof 5. Read more

I had a very similar experience as others at this place. The food was very good, but pretty pricey. We cooked everything... ourselves on the BBQ but they still charged us a 4% surcharge and 18% service charge. We had several waiters visiting our table, but the service wasn’t excellent. They then suggested tipping on top of the already 22% surcharge and service charge on thebill. Food and ambience was good, but I don’t think I’ll be back because of the price. Read more
