Every city I visit, I must have a good ramen before I leave. I chose tenka ramen based on their overall reviews and I was quite... disappointed. A red flag went up immediately when I saw a sriracha sauce at every table - authentic Japanese ramen places do notgive you sriracha sauce to enhance the ramen flavor because it does the opposite - it *offsets* the pork ramen broth flavors! AsI predicted, their shoyu ramen was one of the worse I have had. I noticed right away that the broth was quite oily and that porkramen broth flavor was very minimal. Chashu pork was about 7 out of 10 as it was a bit tougher than what I get at legit ramenplaces. Service was the only reason tenka earned a 3-star review from me. Even their taro bubble tea was awful - they use cheaptaro milk powder. Clearly yelp reviewers that rated this place have not had much experience eating authentic ramen. Otherreviewers that are authentic ramen lovers like me, avoid this place at all costs. Read more
This place is great. The ramen is yummy The only part which can be improved is the broth.
I ordered the Spicy miso and it was the best ramen i’ve had to date. Would recommend
As an Uptown resident, I am so happy to have Tenka nearby. Great ramen, very fast, at a good price. And of the different ramen... locations I've tried in Minneapolis, they have the best Chashu pork. Edit: Their takoyaki is also very solid. Read more
Yummy Japanese ramen! Due to inflation, price has gone up. Be ready to pay a few buck more but that’s everywhere now. Broth... was very flavorful and the pork was tender. The tokoyaki was good and had lots of benito flakes. Small little restaurant, justorder from the menu by the register and seat yourself and they’ll bring it out when ready. Would definitely go again. I am so glad I found this hole in the wall here in Minneapolis. This place is beyond amazing. The ramen is so flavorful and each... ingredient compliments each other so well, the bao buns are soft, and don’t get me started on the pork. Talk about melt inyour mouth. I got the Tonkatsu ramen, Taro boba tea, and pork bao bun. Normally I am disappointed with bao buns but this placemakes me want to come back for more. So good. Absolutely amazing. I drove 90 miles just for lunch it was that good the first time. Then brought friends the third time and... one had to order a second bowl it was that good . I have no clue how he ate that much!!!!!! Their pork belly is what dreamsare made of. Those who say others don't know ramen who give it a good review .. ????.... Every vacation I take we must as arule stop at one candy store and eat ramen once if available wherever we are in the world... Read more
