Food was OK, nice atmosphere. The decor and atmosphere made us expect a nice Italian restaurant. I think it's mostly a pizza... place. We ordered a scallop appetizer, which was decent. I ordered salmon and was asked if I wanted it rare, medium, or welldone. I've never been asked that before and was quite confused. All I could say was please cook the salmon properly. I suspectit was just a young, inexperienced server. My wife ordered the chicken parmesan. Like my salmon it was slightly over salted andbland. Once we adjusted our expectations, Spassos was a nice experience. It has a basic wine list that's pleasant. I suspectthe best bet is to order pizza or basic fare without customization, like my wife asking for her cooked spinach to be done ElDante. Read more

Truly, the worst of Minnesota. Rigid and lazy. Went on a gorgeous summer evening and patio was inexplicably closed. Asked if... we could sit outside and told it was impossible because they’d have to dry off some chairs from rain earlier that day. We evenoffered to dry the tables and chairs for them. Still no dice. Meanwhile the place was packed and noisy so we headed down thestreet to People’s Organic where they were happy to accommodate us on their patio. Read more

Spasso was a mediocre experience in Italian cuisine. The wood oven, and brick columns with lit stain glass added to the... ombiance. However, the restrooms we unkempt with overflowing trash receptacles and dirty fixtures. The caesar salad was adisappointment of low quality mostly romaine stalks with stale croutons. Our entrees of ravioli and lasagna tasted average, butlacked in meat; yet the sauces had good flavor. We were happy with the service and wine selections. Overall the quality of foodand cleanliness has declined over the years. Read more

This place is absolutely fantastic! Nick was my server and was awesome! 5 star customer service and even though he was super... busy, he took his time with everything we asked of him. Some of the best Italian food in the twin cities. Total hidden gem Read more

Spasso my goodness… check out this lineup???? ???? ???? Bolognese (Housemade papardelle, ricotta, basil, pronounced... Bowl-un-yayz) ???? Chicken Parmigiano (Fettuccini, garlic cream sauce, basil, parmesan) ???? ???? Emilia-Romagna Pasta(House-made pasta squares, roasted chicken, mixed greens, asparagus, balsamic vinegar, mascarpone, prosciutto, toasted pinenuts) ???? Gnocchi (Broccoli, tomato, spinach, sausage, pesto cream sauce) ???? Crispy Wings ???? ???? Mac & Cheese It’sfair to say my first try of this classic Italian dish Bologn-Blew my mind!! Fresh made pasta dressed with the traditional meaty, thick, creamy sauce, made from wine, tomatoes, beef, and finely diced vegetables… spectacularly superb ???? Oh, did I forgotthe Ricotta BOMB on top?! Ridiculously delicious. You won’t believe something this good exists until you experience Bolognese???? My dining comrades all gave great marks to their dishes. The gnocchi might be my pick next time based on its amazingappearance. But that Emilia-Romagna Pasta with prosciutto and parmesan looks promising… and it certainly wouldn’t harm totry the Chicken Parmigiano. I might have to head back a few times ???? Spasso is on the spendy side, but the atmosphere andprestigious vibes add value. Plus, the food will buckle your knees and tattoo your tastebuds (aka you won’t forget it easily:)???? Read more

We tried Spasso for the first time tonight to support a local restaurant down the street. While the hostess was rather... unwelcoming, our server provided exceptional service!! The happy hour wine and truffle fries were a hit for the whole table. Thecomplimentary bread was pretty underwhelming and served with butter packets, so don’t expect any fancy oil like other Italianspots. We got a wood fired pizza to share with the table which was great! Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for the Cesarsalad we got which was relatively bland featuring day old iceberg I might add. The pasta wasn’t as impressive as we hoped andthe chicken seemed like the frozen then microwaved type. To cap it all off, we were celebrating a birthday so we got freechocolate gelato (amazing) and my moms favorite, tiramisu! Best tiramisu we’ve had! All in all, come for pizza and dessert! Read more

Hockey tournament led us to this fantastic restaurant. Day 1 we ordered the cheese ravioli, the mussels, steak fondue and... tiramisu. My son loved the ravioli, it's very fresh with a lot of tomatoes and it had a very creamy, cheesy center. Veryflavorful! Steak fondue had the best gorgonzola sauce with great flavor. The Mussels were awesome it was a large dish with anice buttery crustini. The tiramisu was cake like and nicely formed together. Day 2 we had Nick as a server and boy was hepossibly to best server I had. He recommended some amazing food, had such a warm heart and had great work ethic. We ordered thecheese ravioli again, kids spaghetti, the bolognese, sausage and been soup and the parmesan truffle wings. I highly recommendthe wings, a subtle parmesan and truffle flavor that let's the crisp of the wing speak for itself. The bolognese has to be thehighlight of the menu, it's so fancy, the noodles are homemade parpadelle and the meat sauce was thick and had a great taste. The best thing about the bolognese was the creamy ricotta that brought the dish together. My son's spaghetti had this hugemeatball and he was full after the first couple of bites. I definitely recommend this restaurant. Read more
