First and foremost, we ate here day one of vacation and food and service were good. Now I'm going to present to you how to... completely bungle customer service. We went at 5 o'clock on a Friday. The hostess was in a terrible mood, as I see a coupleother reviewers can attest to on the same day. The inside was closed for a wedding so service was in the bar area or outsidepatio. A couple of tables were at the bar and one party besides us were on the patio. We ordered 4 sushi rolls. Then wewatched as another party of four came in a few minutes later ordered, received and got halfway done with steak. Over 45 minuteslater our server finally returns with our sushi to state "sorry we had a run of togo orders on sushi" ???? wow! No. Never,ever,ever use Togo as an excuse to make a paying customer sitting in your restaurant wait for that extreme amount of time. Waterglasses were empty when the sushi arrived. Server came back with Togo ramekins "for soy sauce" when I was half done with thesushi, at which point I had already put the soy sauce on my plate. At the end of the meal, we waited, and waited for the serverto return. Eventually I grew tired of the hour and a half we had just wasted and left my card with my wife. She eventually hadto hunt someone down to pay and found the manager. When she mentioned the horrendous wait and poor service, the manager couldonly reply with another excuse: "sorry we have a wedding" ????????????. The tables were set up for the wedding when we arrived.We watched the whole wedding occurring across the street as we were waiting for our sushi. There were a total of about 25customers to be served in the whole hour and a half we were there. No comp, no discount, nothing to make up for the absoluteworst service I have ever received at restaurant. We ordered take away online. The wait was on par with other take away options, 30-45 minutes. The jumbo shrimp were easily the... best my hubs and I have ever had. His garden salad was fresh and everything was crisp. My wrap had an abundance of meat but wassadly lacking in lettuce/tomato to balance it out. It was still tasty. Overall the price was a little high but the quality wasexcellent so I think it balanced out. Read more
We enjoyed the Royal Palm Grille while staying at the Surfside Resort. The food is a made from scratch kitchen and you could... tell it was prepared fresh. The California Roll was made fresh to order in their sushi bar and tasted very good. My husbandordered the Blackened Grouper Sandwich and thoroughly enjoyed it. The drinks were also very tasty. Our favorite was the LongIsland Iced Tea made from 4 different rum flavors. K.T. Took great care of us at the bar. My reason for giving 4 stars was thelimited bar food menu and appetizers. While there were many great entrees, there wasn’t much to offer if you want some simple“bar food”. The menu items were pricey and the food was really good, but some lower priced snacky bar food would have been anice option but wasn’t available as part of their menu. No hurry, no worry. Yeah, we got here over an hour ago and still waiting for our food. Our drinks are empty and no refill in... sight. The table that arrived after us has been served four times and we still have nothing but our empty glasses. Our kid'spizzas came out, after an hour of waiting, looking like Tony's frozen pizza. $8 for 4 miniature slices of obviously-frozenpizza? If the wait is justified by "scratch made" cooking, I need an explanation. We were told we'd be the next sushi roll inline, and after watching the table across (who arrived 20mins after we did) get their second roll delivered to them, we honestlycouldn't stand sitting around and waiting any longer. When trying to explain how disheartened I was by the experience, all themanager had to say is "sorry it didn't live up to YOUR expectations" as if basic customer service was some extraordinary thingwe're expecting. For a tourist location, and coming from someone who just drove 10hrs, this was not at all what we'd expect fromthe Royal Palm. Per the manager, this Jordan guy is what caused our awful experience so I'll go ahead and call him out by name.However, no remedy or attempt to fix the situation from this establishment. Read more
lots of food choices, knowledgeable & friendly staff, indoor & outdoor dining, beach bar (didn't see another one around so a big... plus), all ages would enjoy this place. Also enjoy their Free bonfire events on Mondays & Fridays. Smores were delish &atmosphere was chill. Sushi was fantastic. Pasta was fantastic. Fried green tomatoes were beyond fantastic. Service was great. Price was fair for the... entire experience.
