The food was really good. I enjoyed the drinks as well. The server was good but had a tough time keeping up with his tables and... also us. Didn?t come back to check on us or offer any black pepper. Was hoping to get his attention or call him over but wasntattentive to our table. Not his fault I just felt he was not well experienced. Steps are important servicing and he was all overthe place. I had ordered wild mushrooms with goat dip. I was very happy with the taste. However, there was a peculiar unpleasant strong... smell to the dip that was unavoidable every time i took a bite. No complaints though. Quantity did justice to the price. Serverswere very friendly and helpful. It had a lovely patio. It was a cozy, peaceful place sans the chaos. You will not regret goinghere. I loved everything about the restaurant. The steak was very good and tasty. The ambience was so nice. They have heated patio... which was aswesome. We celebrated my friend's birthday here and our exprience was amazing. Our server Sean took really good careof us. He suggested the wine and dessert which we really liked. Overall 10/10. So after driving by this restaurant many times, I finally decided to try it today. I entered at lunch time and the hostess was... friendly and greeted me right away. I chose to sit at the bar top and met the bartender Jamie who took great care of me. Iordered the prime rib and fries lunch portion which was listed at 9oz. To be honest, when it came out it looked more like a 7ozpiece. It was cooked medium rare as I requested and was pretty good. The horseradish was freshly made which was a nice touch. Nice heated outdoor seating. Delicious Ceasars. Crab cakes were excellent and the honey goat cheese mushroom appetizer was so... flavorful. I had the Steak Oscar and it was pretty good. This was my first experience at CHOP because I am usually a " The Keg" kind of person. The location looks modern and well... appointed. I have to commend the wait staff because they were trained the proper way. Our waiter John was attentive, friendlyand helpful. I give them all 5 stars really. I really do not like the booths at this location. They are so uncomfortable.Perhaps for a party of 2, then it will be perfect. But for a party of 4 adults with jacket and coats, it really is a let down.There is no place to hang your jackets. The person who led us to the booth mentioned that they can bring a coat rack. But itnever came. For the record, I never asked to be moved and be seated at a table. Around 7-8PM as the dinner crowds arrived, thetemperature in the restaurant became really hot and a bit unbearable. I can see that some other guests began to take off theirsport jackets and sweaters etc. You get the point. If this was the dead of winter, I can understand. But it is late April ...whyis the heat still blasting away??? The food is a mix bag and it may be a case of YMMV. I believe that the steaks / prime rib (Beef ) items are fantastic. But their seafood offerings leave a bit more to be desired. The crab cakes ( appetizer ) lacked anycrab taste / flavour at all. And I have had my share of crab cakes all along the US East Coast and in the Maritimes. The misoglazed salmon was not very tasty I am afraid. I really expected more chef skills and freshness on this dish. Perhaps choosingthe method of baking this dish is the issue. I am not sure really. To this end, I will not return. But I have to say that I sawmany happy faces among the families, friends etc. that were enjoying their time here. Please drop in and give them a try andthen let us all know what your thoughts are. Very attentive staff that knew the menu. The atmosphere of the place was fresh and felt like a nice steakhouse. Appetizers hit... the right note, and the main courses were exactly as ordered. We ordered some delicious takeout recently from Chop Steakhouse and let us tell you it didn't feel like your average takeout -... in fact it felt like a nice at home dining experience! They also have a heated patio so that you can visit during the winter andstay cozy.
