I don't normally write reviews but I thought it would be important to share some feedback. I have been a loyal customer of this... establishment for over 10years, several times a week as my office is quite close. I have always been very satisfied with thefood at this location but since the ownership has changed I would agree with some recent posts that the quality has really gonedown hill. I also noticed a large price increase across all the items but understand as business overhead has increasedtremendously for me in my businesses as well. What I don't find really understandable is reheating day old chicken and sellingit as fresh. Last week I had two half chicken dinners picked up by one of my staff members as I was treating him to lunch. Hehad brought the food back to our shop and the chicken was pretty horrible. Very dry and noticeably old. Neither of use ate awhole lot of it as it didn't taste very good. Having been a busy day I didn't go back and complain as we were short on time andwent on with our day. Here I am a week later, doing some banking in the plaza so I thought I would try again. I went in andordered the same thing but thought I would confirm with the server that the chicken was fresh. She mentioned it was brought outrecently and it was. I asked her to confirm with the cook if it was fresh, as in cooked that day, or fresh as in recentlyreheated. the latter of the two was the answer. Needless to say I switched my order to a sandwich, which the bread was stale.Very disappointed once again and this is likely the last time that I visit this location. I really hope this review reaches theowners and they change their business mentality. If your running a restaurant, the food should be fresh. If your selling freshchicken it should not be day old. And if it is, you should be letting your customers know before charging them $20 for day oldmeat that has been reheated. Came here as a party of 3 on Sunday around 2:00pm for brunch. Ordered Calamari Diablo and Tacos from the appetizer menu. They... were $19 each. Calamari was soft on a bed of semi-cooked green peppers and some olives. The sauce was a simple marinara saucefrom a jar bought at Costco. Not impressed. Tacos were worse. Flaccid, uncooked tortillas laid bare on a sad plate with barelyany ingredients inside. Sour cream in a small package similar to airline food. Unappealing. Plus the tortillas were days if notweeks old as I could smell and taste the fungus on them. Gross. Service was good and the house wine decent. Food terrible andoverpriced for the value and location. Me and my family always use to get the rice , chicken , potatoes and fish but since the new owners it hasn?t been as great as it... use to. The rice was really really bad. It had a consistency similar to orzo, it smelled like it was old ? And the taste andtexture was hard and slimy. The potatoes had no seasoning, it sucks but we probably won?t come back. Read more

Got takeout from this place - was my first time trying them. I got a half chicken dinner and I must say I was very disappointed.... The chicken was very dry - not sure how long it had been sitting there but there was no juices and some parts were verytough/dry. The potatoes are nothing special - no salt or seasoning. Rice was disappointing too - seems like regular rice withfrozen vegatables....so flavourless. So very very disappointed. Ordered schnitzel sandwich which I always paid 7.99 now they charge an extra $4.00 for a bun! (I can... buy a dozen for that price) bringing the total to over $13. and the meat portion is half of what it used to be. Plus the tomatosauce is terrible, takes over the entire sandwich. First time here since ownership, started talking to the woman at the cash to place my order. My conversation was interrupted by... the new owner as he was explaining something to the woman. I told the woman that was quite rude of him to which she repliedunapologetically, "It's okay, he's like that". It's definitely NOT okay. Sorry to see this great restaurant go, used to be afavourite. This place used to be amazing. Super friendly staff and amazing food. I always said it was the best restaurant in mississauga.... I?ve been away at university, and was shocked when the place seemed to have new owners. I grew up on Portuguese Deli Sandwiches,and when I had my last one in February it was $8.00. All of a sudden under new owners it?s 13.50????? Crazy prices for foodwhich has declined in quality since new owners took over. Very sad development for the applewood community. We?ve lost a gem!
