I'm a big supporter of Second Cup a CANADIAN company. They have really good ethical and sustainable coffee harvesting practices... and use biodegradable straws. Way better than Tim Hortins. The staff at this location are always nice, quick service and I lovetheir products especially the bagel breakfast sandwich, vanilla bean latte (the best ever!) and their smoothies are delicious.The place is also very clean. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that they don't offer recycling at this location and when I brought my reusable mug they still made my drink in the cup and then threw it out. When I told them I brought my owntravel mug they said they had to use it. Read more
Lovely place. Neat and clean. Enjoyed the ambience and the smoothie.
Today might not be the best time to rate this place because the debit and credit machines are not working and the cashier has to... be writing down information on paper, then taking cash only. Many customers just made a U turn when they hear that the debitmachine is unavailable. Not the best day for them. I just happened to have a small amount of cash for two caramel Lattes.Anyway, the place was clean and customers were seated using their laptops. I also noticed a sign saying stay only for 1 hour. I like the look and ambiance of the place. But the coffee and smoothies were not that great. I asked for an almond smoothie and... it had no flavour at all?.. do not buy this. Redeemed fido reward/medium coffee. Service was quick. ?- Got our vanilla bean latte. Drink was well made and service was... fast. The staff was pleasant and could be seen engaging with customers. I was sad not to see the brownie they once use to carrybut hopefully it was a one off thing and they still have it. Read more
Second cup has shifted from the average coffee shop where you get your morning cup of coffee to focusing on specialty coffee,... focusing on the coffee's origins, brewing methods (they do pour over coffee) and flavor notes. This particular Second cup isnice and centrally located. There are large windows that allow for a lot of natural light and the atmosphere is nice to sit downand have a chat with a friend or get some work done. One thing I found odd about this particular location is that they keeptheir bathrooms locked, but the servers will open them for you _________________________________ Edit: It turns out they onlyallow for one hour of sitting in.
