We ordered sandwich lunches for pick up for a small family reunion at Spring Mill State Park. We could not have been happier... with the whole experience. We had good advice and help with working out our order; the chef was open to off the menupossibilities, but we worked with the menu as the choices were so varied and interesting. We ordered a variety of sandwichesand sides, and everything was fresh and delicious and attractively presented. It was a meal that helped make our gatheringspecial. I wish we had The Kitchen in our home town! Read more

I want to start off by saying my service was great today, unfortunately the food was terribly dry and bland. The only thing in my... $40 order with any bit of flavor was the loaded potato soup. The cheesesteak had no flavor other than bread and grease, thebottom of my monte felt like soggy gelatin, the turkey on it tasted like aged store bought 99cent lunch meat and there was barelyany ham to be found on it. I hate to leave a review like this but when you pay $40 for food you want to be able to enjoy it,notforce eat half of it and feed the rest to your pets. It would be 1 star if it wasn?t for the incredibly nice service and thesurprisingly good potato soup. Read more

We were in town for hiking at the park on Thanksgiving. We had pre-ordered takeout Thanksgiving dinner and couldn?t have been... more pleased from start to finish! The owners were so kind on the phone and when we picked up. They made sure we had all thenapkins and dinnerware since they knew we were traveling. And the meal was delicious! Turkey, dressing, all the sides and evenpumpkin pie. Can?t wait to go back! Read more

We came to Mitchell to spend a few days at Spring Mill Inn. We decided to have lunch and chose The Kitchen at 5th and... Main. Man, what a surprise. Found out it has been open about 6 months. It was quaint and very clean. My wife chose the club. It was excellent and there were a number of sides to choose from. She picked pasta salad. The first thing I saw was the craftsoft drinks on the back of the menu. I LOVE root beer and I had one I've never tasted before...Dang. It was excellent andvery reasonable. I chose the Hot Brown. I don't eat a lot of hot browns but I can say it was one of, if not the best I've everhad. It wasn't your typical boxed cheese sauce, it was an alfredo that tasted home made. The portion was a great size withripe tomatoes on it and loaded with meat . So if you're in Mitchel, do yourself a favor and check out "The Kitchen". Read more

I've recently moved to the area and was hoping that there would be a unique, delicious and *affordable* dining option. I am... very glad at the off chance we took to come in and have a meal. This place makes moving to Mitchell even better! I reallyencourage other people to go there. I hope that places like this are the direction Southern Indiana is going! Read more

Tried it for the first time last night, and we really enjoyed it. It's not just a common burger place. Their meals are different... and unique and very good. The staff was helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back! Read more
