I’ve been trying to get to SoCu for some time now and after almost three years, I FINALLY made it. Let me tell you, it was... WORTH EVERY MOMENT!!! The service was amazing! Our waitress, Sabrina took really good care of us. Made some really awesomerecommendations and was super attentive to our needs. The establishment was really clean and and the aesthetic was super cute.Staff was really friendly and made my guest and I feel like we were right at home. Even the General Manager came and checked onus a few times and made sure we were good. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Amazing food, amazing people, and anexperience that was out of this world. I have gone twice both times celebrating something special and Ms. Monica was great. She is like that aunt that keeps it real.... The food was great and so were the drinks. I absolutely love supporting a Black-owned business, especially when the food is immaculate and upscale. Our server Monica was... fantastic and recommended all the best things on the menu. I would trust her with my life. The building is an old dive bar musicvenue they’ve really brought back to life and made like new. I really enjoyed everything from the oysters to the dessert.It’s pricy but worth it. I’m happy to see incredible soul food priced appropriately. I’ll be back very soon. Read more
We happened upon this restaurant after walking past many that were closed. What a gem. The food was amazing. We had the BEST... EVER oysters for an appetizer and the fried chicken for our entrees. The chicken was so moist. The food was amazing but whatreally stood out was the staff. Angel and Sabrina were so friendly, and attentive. They are an asset to this establishment.Thank you so much for making our night so enjoyable. Upscale. Soul. Food. Flavorful, filling, and fairly priced for the experience. Menu is put together well to meet... appetizer/entrée/desert expectations. Slow when we went in 2021. Coming off of Covid restrictions at the time I would saytheir staffing and service exceeded expectations. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Music was too loud and lighting was toodim for my dad; they quickly made adjustments to better meet his needs. Read more
I struggled deeply on wether I should give 4 or 5 stars. Definitely one of the best meals I’ve had in Downtown Mobile. I had... the fried chicken and my wife had the catfish. Both were cooked perfectly and tasted excellent. The staff is awesome and theatmosphere is great. My only issue was the sides. I had the yams and creamed corn. Both tasted great, but were room temperature.Had they not tasted so good even at room temperature, this would have been a 4 star review. We will definitely return, hopefullyto experience how great the sides are hot. Read more
Vibe, Food, and Music 20/10! Let me just say the next time, I'm in Birmingham...this is a MUST! The decor gave you a 90s kinda... hangout but sophisticated. The wait time was decent for it to during brunch hours, maybe 20 mins for appetizers and 20-25 forthe main acts. The waiter was very attentive and welcoming. We had the lobster deviled eggs for an appetizer, the honey Srirachaglaze was the star of this concoction. They are known for their oyster and did not disappoint us! Very tasty. The main entreesof catfish and Grits and chicken and waffles didn't half step. Everything was delicious! The drink menu is lengthy but wedecided on the mimosa and they were spot on as well. Read more
