First time. Had high hopes for a local source of Louisiana style dish's. We had two chicken sandwiches with fries and a small... ettouffee. See pictures of the fries. Over fried and over salted. The chicken was just over fried. The ettouffee haveexcellent flavor but was cold so I took it home to heat it. Seriously I really wanted this place to be good. The Chicken was so tasty and tender. Everythang they brought here was absolutelydelicious! Thank yinz?rs for making this weekend special. Steve and Benny's Chicken Shack was superior on all levels! The communication and ease of planning with Steve before the party... was great! And then Benny on the day of the party was the ultimate professional as well as just being such a nice guy. Excellent excellent!!!! Some of the best food I?ve had in a long time . Ordered the special of Shrimp n Catfish étouffée was... delicious. Also ordered the chicken sandwich which was amazing of course it came with hand cut fries!!! Read more

I really wanted this place to be great but it was underwhelming. The pros: they were very nice taking my phone order, they... stayed open for me to pick up my order, and the fries were not bad... nothing remarkable but fine. The cons: though the chickenwas large is was very dark and very dry. Half of my piece was inedible (see photo). It was $64 to feed 4 people. I'm willing topay boutique prices if it's amazing but I was not impressed. The patron side of the place was really dirty... the one workingbathroom was really bad... like bad bad... no soap a damp roll of paper towels sitting on the toilet, and I'm not even goingtalk about the toilet or floors. There was a filthy rag laying on the counter where you receive your order and all the pointsof contact were discolored with dirt. I honestly would have walked out if I had not ordered in advance. The cook was wearinggloves but based on the front of house was still wary. Read more
