Great service, very professional was my experience. The guy was very friendly and the lady was nice and welcoming. They tell you... on the phone with call-ins how long it will take to be ready, my time was 20 -25 minutes, they fry it fresh. I drove home and itwas still smoking hot! I frequent this location often, everything I bought has been very good thus far. I very disappointed in the service I got today,... I called in and I was told 25 minutes I get there 30 minutes later to be told the fish was unthawing! Management was loud and Ididn't appreciate it. I understand of the short staff all of that but I should've been given a later time. I wasted my time andgas! Read more
Grabbed dinner for myself and my daughter last night who is home from college for the weekend. She is VERY much a Harold's fan... and also VERY picky, haha. This food was AMAZING. She said her wings (lemon pepper flavor, fried hard) were PERFECT, and I hadsome of her fries with the sauce over them and they were just delicious! And that bread on the bottom of it all, mmmmmm. I hadthe fried green tomatoes and they were by far, the best I've ever had (and I'm very picky about those; most places don't knowhow to properly make them). We also ordered some deep fried mushrooms and an order of hush puppies to share and let me say, theamount they give you could be split between 4 people!!! Amazing quality and quantity of food for the low price we paid. Evenhad leftovers to bring for lunch today! Lastly, Chris is just the warmest, friendliest person ever to walk into a business andbe greeted by, with the best laugh! Such a warm and welcoming environment! I ordered the catfish dinner, that?s one peace of catfish and in the large dinner you get 3 of them no way your going hungry... with this dinner. With that said I ask for the mild hot sauce and I think it was catchup,so that?s why only 4star whatever thatwas it wasn?t hot sauce from where I come from. But still good food. Read more
Now if have you been following me for a while you'd see that Harold's has problems all over the city of Chicago. Today I'm... checking out the one in monee since I'm in the area. Hopefully they'll be better than the rest. Customer Service: Placed anonline order they called within minutes and let me know that they didn't have any liver. We opted for double gizzards. I gotthere 20 minutes later and the food was ready. No hassle & the staff was friendly. 5/5 Gizzard Dinner: Appearance - To behonest they don't look appetizing. They look to be lightly fried & the breading is pale because of it. There's plenty therethough so for $7.50 this could easily feed 2-3 people. Comes with bread on the bottom & a healthy amount of thick, straight cutfries. 3/5 Taste - Thank God for lemon pepper. The gizzards are a bit rubbery & tougher than normal, but the flavor definitelysaves this. Maybe find some way to tenderize the gizzards better or let it fry a bit longer. I feel like I could eat these allday if they were prepared better. 3/5 Wings & Catfish Dinner: Appearance - Just like the gizzards the chicken was lightly friedleaving somewhat pale breading. The catfish was a perfect golden brown albeit fried a little too hard as the fish has beenturned into a fish stick. 3/5 Taste - Great fish, superb chicken. The lemon pepper seasoning really stands out & take this overthe top. You can't go wrong with anything here, but the chicken is a clear winner. 5/5 Overall this is the best Harold's I'vebeen to. Nice spacious restaurant for sitting down in, great food & the customer service is there (something which almost everyHarold's is tremendously lacking in.) The Harolds you know and love with a very friendly staff. Easily the nicest staff I?ve encountered at a Harolds, not that there... was anything wrong with the others, Monee just went above and beyond. Food was very hot and delicious.
