We pass The Whistle Stop several times a year but are never able to stop and try, today we planned a trip and it was well worth... the 1.5 hour drive. Everything from food to service to cleanliness was excellent! The menu had FAR more to offer than wasexpected. The salad bar was well maintained and stocked. We had a party of 8 plus a toddler (the trains kept him veryentertained) all but one of us were extremely pleased. The one was fine, but just wished she would have picked something else.The Sch??? salad with hot bacon dressing was a real treat. 5 STARS for service but lost two for NO BREAKFAST! Unrelated to the restaurant the tour guide guy went nuts when we wandered... into the museum. He promptly escorted us out and told us it's $18 per person, that's ridiculous! Read more

I came here with my fiance who is a major train nerd and ordered the mushroom swiss burger with sweet potato fries. It was... honestly the best food I've had since moving to Indiana. The sweet potato fries were the most perfect fries I've ever had! Ourwaitress was super nice and helpful too. In the back of the restaurant, they have a train memorabilia museum which is PACKEDwith old-school pocket watches, silverware and plates, train bells, and loads more. My kids love going here! They are sometimes too busy watching the trains to eat but we just take it to go and they eat on the... way home. Our waitresses have all been super nice! The food is normal Cafe style food. I've never had bad food. Restrooms arekinda small. Read more

If you like Trains, model railroads or things related to trains then you should stop and visit. Modern Cafe style food in what... I would consider the middle of nowhere attached to the Monon railroad museum. Read more

Good food. Salad bar . I got the ribeye which was great. The Polly Ann sandwich is good and the John Henry is a huge sandwich !... Great for train lovers as it has a museum and small trains that run on tracks all over the restaurant. Read more
