I\'ve had delicious Mexican before and Monarca is the best Mexican I\'ve had to date, my wife agrees and the 10 person party... that we were with, everyone loved their meals. The chips and salsa were fantastic and it was some of the best guac I\'ve everhad, besides being in Mexico itself. My wife loved her salad, and my burrito was fantastic and GIANT. Staff was friendly andaccommodating and the setting itself inside is very nice. Highly recommend! Enjoy!!! Read more
Really good American Mexican food. Huge portions. Forgot to take a pic. The bar tender was awesome! It was decently busy for a... Tuesday night, however the bar tender was the only one waiting on the tables and bar for all food and drinks. No wait staff, nobusters, no help and at the end of the meal when I asked why the bar tender was dividing the tip they said is was because thebusters automatically had to receive tip. Dear management- treat your working employees better. Not a single person came andhelped. Don’t stiff your staff that actually works and not incentivize those who don’t work. This place leaves much to be desired. I have to say, I was very hopeful for this place. Being that it\'s new and local, I was... excited to see it open. Once there however, it was just a big disappointment.\nLet\'s start with the chairs at the high tablesand by the bar, why? They are by far the most awkward chairs to get in and out of. They are really not welcoming.\nThe serviceis not bad, but they are lacking personality and charm.\nThe menu is extensive, but leaves no options for substituting some ofthe mixed matched sides that come with certain entrees.\nThe overall presentation and ambiance of the restaurant is very wellthemed. They offer outdoor dining and have a very well stocked bar.\nThe food however is very bland for a Mexican restaurant.The meats lack flavor, the sides are small, and the beans seem to be straight out of the can. The \"chimicurri sauce\" offendsthe real chimicurri sauce you find anywhere else. The guacamole on the menu mentions that it\'s made at your table, but itshould read that it\'s finished at your table bc I never saw an avocado. The guacamole was already in a container and thecondiments are mixed in and served in a plastic container.\nOverall, the place appears to be top knotch. It sets yourexpectations high, and makes you want to enjoy the experience, which is why it all goes downhill once you sit at your table,especially if you try to sit at one of the high tables. Sadly, I probably will not make it back. At least not for the foodanyway. If you\'ve had decent Mexican elsewhere, you will immediately understand why this place disappoints.\nThe prices arealso not the best for what you are getting. Very nice addition to the neighborhood. Chicken fajita das delicious but didn\'t care for the ceviche as the sauce was a bit... sweet and something tasted too fishy. Husband had the steak bowl but wasn\'t too impressed. Read more
The place looks great, the service was good. The food is tasty( good but not the best Mexican food in the area) the portions are... small for the price you pay. I would only go back for a special occasion. Not like to visit regularly because it is extremelycostly for what you get. For example I got a taco plate. It only comes with 2 tacos 1 small scoop of rice and a tiny condimentcup size of beans. Come on now. For 16 bucks give me what I payed for. Read more
Before it gets busy, the service is great. I was there between the time and I can say the service went downhill from there.... It’s newly opened and has plenty of things to straighten up.\n\nI love the salsa and chip they gave us free when we got in.It’s a good start. So much for taco Tuesday at the bar, they removed it during that time. I guess it’s only for lunch. Thedrink is honestly so so. I think they water down too much juice to alcohol ratio. I barely taste any alcohol and a bit on thesweet side. Time to up the drink games guys.\n\nMusic outside can be annoying to the neighbor, I won’t be surprised one daysomeone come at night and smash those speakers. If you don’t have outdoor seating, don’t play outdoor music. What’s thepoint?\n\nFood is honestly so so. I think they can use some more flavor. Where are the green sauce? The bean and rice is alittle disappointing with zero taste. They said it was cooked in bacon and honestly I think it was boiled in water. The ricelooks sad like from a buffet stand. How can you get that? Is it not fresh? But for price, it’s okie. We asked for some chefspecial but they ran out due to demand. I will come back for that. Definitely go for fajita here. Taco is okie but I only triedone. So time will tell.\n\nLet’s start with the people. Friend and family gets special attention. It’s like the whole staffwill come check on them. Other customers will be ignored after the initial ordering. I had to wait 15 minutes to get my check asanother table had to wait 30 minutes for his drinks. I hope he got it for free. Our waitress disappeared on us after we got ourfood.\n\nInterior has a lot of space. I didn’t know there was a whole new section on the other side of the main bar area.It’s nice to come and view the lake for a while and good spot to stop after a day kayaking or swimming. The restaurant is... nicely decorated with views available of the lake...There is outdoor seating as well as a dining room area or you can choose thebar area .
