Pay close attention when ordering! My wife and I have eaten here for years and love it BUT I?m not sure if staff or management... has changed or what the case is but we essentially got lied to and mislead in terms of pricing?. By double! We?ve takenadvantage of their half priced sushi nights for years and love it so I called them today just to make sure it tonight is stillhalf priced sushi and I was told yes but that I would need to call it in and couldn?t get that pricing online which is fairenough. So we end the call and look over the menu and call back to order our choices only to get there when the order is readyand be told ?none of the rolls you ordered were half priced? no bother to work on THEIR mistake considering I just confirmedbefore ordering that it?s half priced sushi night and was never told there are all of a sudden only certain options for that.That?s never been the case for us prior when ordering. So if you?re ordering just BEWARE being mislead. The food is good but Ido appreciate honesty and customer service in a business and this was the opposite unfortunately. Read more

Lot of people seem to go there Hibachi or sit down options They have a lunch special that was around $3 cheaper than the dinner... option. If you order the dinner Hibachi then 1 child hibachi $1.99 but not with the lunch version The food was good Hibachichef was trying to be showy by throwing some rice at each customer to catch with their mouth. Not really thrilled aboutthat Out of 8 pax only 1 time did he get it in someone's mouth. Would've been great had he had great aim. Sloppy. Justplunked the sauce on a sauce plate for each. Messy drips on the table. Would've been better to put it one at a time alreadyfilled or use a squeeze bottle to fill Sashimi was NOT worth it The thinness and the itsy bitsy size for the price waspathetic. The same price same order was a decent thickness and size in other places. Even Harry Teeters deli had better slicedstuff. I heard at the other table when they wanted to split 1 hibachi between 2 boys, they were told it was an extra $1 forsplitting. I had not been to Takara in quite a while. I went with a friend as she suggested it to celebrate my birthday. The sushi was... delicious and the hibachi chicken was as well. The portions were so that we both had food to bring home with us. The staff waswonderful as they helped to celebrate my birthday. Everything was great! Read more

We had reservations for 6:00. Our table wasn't ready until about 25 after. I understand running a bit behind, but 25 minutes is... a bit excessive. After we were seated it was yet another wait for them to finally come get drink orders. Yet another long waitfor actual orders. I really felt for the waitress as it seemed like they had her working the entire side alone, so maybe theywere short staffed? It would have been nice to just explain that to us, and it would have been no problem. The food at least waspretty good, but eating with plastic utensils is a little difficult...especially when you need to cut something, and there's noknife. I understand COVID precautions so we tried to make the best of it since it's where my son chose to go for his birthdaydinner. Read more

This review is of the restaurant location on Independence Blvd in Charlotte NC. There was no wait at lunch time. I entered the... restaurant and there was a young lady on a cell phone who just looked at me for a second then looked away while I stood thereawkwardly ???? I was approached by a non mask wearing apparently aggravated waitress who asked what I was drinking and thenwalked away. Service was slow in a non crowded restaurant. I ordered a large salad which came and was fresh and delicious witha good size portion. Sushi rolls were also ordered and arrived well made and also delicious . Unfortunately there was whatappeared to be a cook working on a construction project for the entire meal time banging away with a hammer and muttering aloud.Very annoying. So great food, fair prices, bad service and poor atmosphere. Read more
