The facility was filthy. There was mold all over. The "storage room" where they get their drinks from was disgusting and... cluttered. There was cleaning supplies on the floor near the food. The food wasn't great and it looked like it was sitting outfor days. Some of the dishes I couldn't even finish eating. It's been almost a week and my stomach still doesn't feel right. Honestly I don?t know how this place hasn?t been shut down by the health department? the family is sweet but the place is filthy... and I?m pretty sure the family lives in the banquet room in the back?. Ordered take out which has been safe until today? $50 offood tossed in the trash after eating 3 bites I was overcome with cold sweats within 20 minutes, multiple trips to the can, andnow hours later crippling stomach cramps if I stay out of ER with how bad I feel it will be amazing. Stacks of filthy fish tankparts and the room the get drinks from stacked with boxes upon boxes, the wife visits every food pantry and food share in townand that?s why the noodles in the LO main change so frequently and why the veggies within many dishes change from day to day,I?m all for being resourceful but it?s morally corrupt to serve ppl that pay to keep you in business food that?s past dates, andtaken from charities that are giving to feed those in need not people trying to save on their food orders while making profitoff of generosity of charities in town?I haven?t eaten from buffet in years but the ordering ala Carte was fresh n hot butunfortunately several family members are down with bad tummies ( severe cramping, nausea and the need for Imodium ad) Read more
Was brought here by a local (visiting from Texas) and this place is WONDERFUL!! The food is tasty and they're eager to make... things fresh for you if the buffet is low. The service is better than I've ever experienced and I eat out almost like is myprofession. Generous portions and AMAZING service. 10000/10 the customer service was what made this experience unforgettable. I?ve been to luxurious buffets In Vegas but this one... was the best because of the nice girl in the pink shirt ???? she would literally walk up to tables and ask people if they wantedfresh food that just popped out. We enjoyed the dinner! Especially the cake was so soft and yummy. Daughter loved the chicken nuggets and the desert.
I am a regular customer and I always find the food to be good for the bucks and the service to be impeccable. The staff is a... nice couple who are always nice and they go out of their way to help, no matter how busy it is. It is not a fancy place but itis also not expensive. The menu has excellent selection of dishes for a very cheap price. It is remarkable how fast they filldishes once they are out. Read more
Regrettably, Golden City Buffet earned Silver status this visit. I arrived at 7pm, there was hardly anyone there beyond another... couple. The waitress sat me down and took my drink order of water but was not seen often through my meal. Selection is notlarge which was nice. General Tsao Chicken has nice flavour and so did the other chicken dishes I tried including Chicken on aStick, Peanut Chicken, Salt & Pepper Chicken, and the Teriyaki Chicken. Beef with Broccoli was tough to chew, but nonethelessstill good. The coconut shrimp was sticky to chew and the buttered seafood was a bit dry (some of the shrimps still had theirtails to them), though the bacon wrapped shrimps were divine! The Crab Ragoons a bit overdone, the first few were dried out, butthe second few were nice and warm. A constant during my meal was many items not hot, only warm if at best. I had one of thesweet rolls, it was warm and soaked up the oil it was friend in. There was a variety of deserts including apple pie, cupcakes,actual cake slices, mini peanut butter cookies, and soft serve ?ice cream?. The apple pie broke the moment I picked it up andhad a bitter flavour (think of a cleaning chemical sprayed near you) and I had to dispose of it, the cupcake frosting wasdelicious but the cake itself was dry. The cake slice had rich chocolate flavour while the peanut butter cookies had more ofthe peanuts than peanut butter flavouring. The soft serve ?ice cream? was sour (think vanilla frozen yogurt) with candytoppings leftover from Valentine?s day (they had those candy hearts with messages on it!) Overall, personally I might not returnsoon to Golden City; however, I encourage you to try them out for yourself and see how you like them, especially if you?re intown for the Evergreen State Fair. Worst buffet I have ever been to. Either all these 5 star reviews are bribed or things have changed for the worse for this... restuarant. When we arrived, food was slim. Most dishes were empty, and those that weren?t looked like they had been sitting outsince 2007. Once i got the three things on my plate that looked hopefully edible, and tasted them, i ate very little. And paidfor it at about 3am the next morning when the food wanted out in more ways than one. Terrible stomach cramps and sick. Saveyourself the time and a sick night and go to Red Robin like we talked about doing before we went here. The staff is nice but theestablishment is gross, bathroom is disgusting, and the food is less than desirable. This place needs shut down. Read more
