I was there for breakfast with my son and two grandchildren. Customer service was excellent, all food made with care, and... delicious! I had the french toast pancakes, best I ever had, light and fluffy! Only draw back, because of competition withnearby coffee shop, he could not offer coffee or tea, but allowed us to go and buy it and bring it back while he cooked. Read.. nice location, great customer service, but the food wasn’t it for me and it hurts to say I am very honest person and if... you follow me I love some good soul food. I think I caught them wrong time of the day. I got Fried chicken wings mac & cheeseand yams I know places have day old stuff but sides wasn’t fresh killed me fr I was looking forward to that and the wings wasfry good but the lemon pepper chicken wasn’t cooked cooked if you know what and it wasn’t cleaned well still feathers on for20 dollars I need my bird done right do you hear me lol ???? but I think they open later in the day they will be more prepared 5stars when the food was a 0 sorry guys ! I went in for lunch today 05-31-2022 and I ordered chicken wings with two sides (Mac & Cheese, Collard greens/cabbage mixed)... the meal came with cornbread! It was delicious. The woman at the front was very friendly & professional she made sure we werecomfortable and had all the condiments and utensils we needed.\n\nThe man in the back cooking came out before we left to bringus a bag to put our leftover boxes in and asked us if we enjoyed our meal. It was so good. I ate most of my leftovers on the2.5-hour ride back home to MD. I will be back! Finally some good soul food! Read more
SO excited!!! So good! So clean! Fresh and delicious. We got the pineapple bbq and hot spicy wings - they came with fries 6... for $10. their cornbread is sweet potato cornbread - tastes like cake! hubby got fried whiting (cornmeal) with collard greens(cut with cabbage) candies yams - yum yum yum. i had baked bbq quarter chicken dark with collards too and black-eyed peas (nice& soft). the collards and BEP were delicious- i don’t think smoked but very slow-cooked! and lastly the banana pudding withstrawberries - gurrllll YUMMO! go support a small business! a black-owned small business!! Tried Dootsie’s today for the first time as it’s a new family owned business. It was wonderful and the staff were friendly... and welcoming! They make 2 special recipe punch drinks that were both delicious and we loved the food too. The sweet cornbreadwas a fantastic touch to complete the meal. It was like a taste of home! Read more
So nice to finally have some homecooked soul food near by. I ordered the Soul-To-Go with fried chicken, yams, potato salad, and... sweet potato cornbread...so flavorful.
