With NO DOUBTS the best restaurant in Montauk! Spent 3 months in the summer docking my boat right in front and end up having... lunch and dinner almost every day. Being a pescatarian I really appreciated every seafood dish in the menu as everything servedis LOCAL. This is probably the only restaurant in the Hamptons serving local seafood. All recipes respect the main ingredientflavor, clean and light with no heavy sauce, heavy season or deep fried BS. Steamed flounder is excellent, BLACK BASS to diefor, Grilled baby squid are incredibly tender and fresh, both Tuna (caught by the owner) and swordfish with lobster bisque ontop are excellent! Great options for vegan and vegetarians, eggplant ?meatball? are just ridiculously good! Only ?negative? noteis that as fishermans couldn?t get decent size of black bass (which is understandable, minimum legal size is 15inches) they haveswitched to Branzino. I would have give them 7 stars if they were eliminating the dish from the menu or used an under utilizedspecies like Porgy, instead of switching to a farm raised imported fish. Super outdoor space on the water enjoyable for bothlunch and dinner. The whole vibe is great, great music on week ends with dj and live bands, everyone ALWAYS smiles (in all nextdoor places, servers are just rude and NEVER smile). Great service both inside and outside. The Bar definitely has an amazingvibe! Ellen, Julia and Candice rotates at the bar and are all great, Ellen definitely my favorite, probably the best bar tenderI have ever encountered, incredibly charming and very knowledgeable about both food and drinks! Amazing cocktails, greatselection of Tequilas and Mezcals and wine?. very knowledgeable sommelier Erin! My wife and I stopped in for dinner during a weekend getaway to Montauk. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess. They were... fully booked, but had some outside seating available so we took it. Our waitress Michaela was truly terrific! She was helpful,sweet, personable and excellent at what she did. The had a great wine and cocktail list. Very expensive....but good. As forthe food. I enjoyed my oysters, however the branzino was off the charts terrific. I can honestly say it was the best piece offish that I ever had. Truly outstanding and unbelievably delicious. I would definitely come back - next time I would like tosit inside. It really is a beautiful space. 5 stars without hesitation. Read more
Was headed by bicycle for a cup of chowder down at Gosman's when I heard the music, so we turned in....and I'm glad we did, a... new find! Happening place in Montauk. Great food, ambiance, service and music in a classy, beachy, modern spot. Yes, eat here,you won't be disappointed. Read more
Dinner was delicious and it was not too heavy and not to lite- it was just perfect! ( May 2021) We came back for a lunch 3 moth... later and food selection was different but still very tasty.( August 12) Only thing that I wasn?t happy about is a cocktails. Itis pretty expensive and I don?t mind as long as there is an alcohol in it. I ordered jalapeño margarita and my bf had cosmo.Both of the drinks were tasty but with no booze in it. I was surprised by the mixed reviews I've read; this being my first time here, I had an enjoyable experience at La Fin. The... atmosphere: the design and feel of the restaurant was nice and modern. I sat outside on their porch, which was also very niceand not too loud. The staff: was amiable and quick. We didn't have to wait too long for the food, and they checked in on usjust enough to avoid intrusive. The food: of course is the main event. I really did enjoy the food. I order the cauliflowerflatbread, the chicken, and a steak special. All in all, it was good. I will note on the steak; there could have been moreseasoning. It seems like the sauce took over as the prominent flavor, not the beef. Cleanliness: the restaurant was clean, andour table, most notably, was. Overall I had an outstanding experience here. It is on the pricey side, so I expected all thedishes to be excellent. That being I give it four stars just because of the seasoning of the beef. Read more
