They have done some work here to make the restaurant itself much nicer. Good beer selection and friendly bartenders. Got the... nachos as an appetizer as well as the chicken wings. Nachos were good size for sharing. The chicken wings were okay. I got theburger for an entre. The blend they use for the beef is pretty good, they seasoned it very well. The pizza was the other entreand it was decent. The star of the meal was the truffle fries! They were near perfect and the right amount of flavor. Our waiterwas also pretty good, they he gave us great service. The best part is they have a parking lot which, is good for Montclair.Price wise it is a bit high - i.e. things like fries don't come with a burger, but again they were good. This was definitely a great place to go eat. We had a networking event here (about 12-15 people) and the staff was great and... very accommodating! They brought food out to us on time (which was delicious!) and everyone was super friendly. Egan & Sons is agreat place to hold get togethers for small and large groups of people. Wanted to be out on a saturday night somewhere outdoorsy but not too far away from home and so Egan and Sons came to mind. We... saw this place back in August when we went to Halcyon. Apparently they now split when it used to be just one ownership before. Iguess thats why they kinda share the outdoor space at the back. Anyway, i wanna note that the host today (9/17/22) was verywelcoming and had such pleasant personality from the time we arrived at around 6:30pm and when we left. Didnt get his name butyou can also tell how pleasant he is from his interaction with the rest of the guests. Same goes to, Chelsea, who attended to ustonight. The menu generally accommodates all kinds of “eaters” from snack eaters, to sandwich eaters to meat and saladeaters lol I think the food is not exactly exquisite but they are pretty good. I got the Arugula Orzo salad with salmon whichwas good. I liked that there wasnt too much goat cheese there as it is a strong flavor for me. My husbands Burger order wasokay. I dont think I’ll order that for myself next time as there were pieces of meat I couldnt chew and the bun didnt hold themeat well and just went soggy. The East Coast Oyster that we got to start were delicious though. I guess there apps are betterthan the entrees. Anyway, still a cool place to hangout and have a few good drinks. Local Favorite for atmosphere, drinks, and fare! I prefer seating towards the middle or back as the front feels a little... disconnected at times as does the outdoor patio. Read more
So yummy! I went on a random date/time. 2pm on a Thursday. It was pretty much empty and I we had the best service.. John was my... server and very professional. My friend was running late and he did not make me feel rushed at all. I had a salmon Caesarsalad, and my friend had a Cobb salad with chicken. She loved her sangria and I was happy with my house white. Those saladswere HUGE, and I will never complain for getting a bunch of yummy food for a reasonable price. Great food, drinks, prices, and atmosphere. The menu variety makes it a perfect place to take visiting friends or family (if... they eat meat, they have to try the chicken pot pie). Mike A is the best server, he’s an absolute sweetheart! Sometimes westop by just to say hi to Mike A. If you’re a fan of UK sports or TV shows they have you covered. If there isn’t room (COVIDaside obvi) there is never a long wait if you’re willing to sit at a high top or the bar. In good weather or with properlayers, the back patio can’t be beat. The owners and their commitment to the experience are part of the heartbeat andcommunity of Montclair. Both dine-in and take-out are done with care. Update: we celebrated our engagement here and once againthe staff delivered 110%. Due to the timing of my proposal I wasn’t able to give them an exact time, but alas they saved us anamazing table and made our very special day absolutely brilliant. We enjoyed a delightful outdoor dinner at Egan & Sons during Christmas week. The had the heaters in the lower tables but not at... the high tops. I had the angus sliders for $12 - a real bargain. My friends ordered the Cobb salad, the beet salad and acheeseburger. Everyone was happy. Read more
The ambiance spoke to me the very moment I walked in. The hostess was just amazing, even though I had to wait longer than... expected, I didn't even notice. Great job there! Mike was our waiter/server and showed great knowledge on the menu. The food wasgreat, though that maple buffalo sauce needed some getting used to. Great place to come to, YOU MUST TRY! Read more
