This restaurant is hands down one of the best sushi restaurants I’ve ever been to in America. The design of the restaurant is... super open and light filled, with ample bar and table seating. I am a mobility aid user, and everyone was incredibly helpfulwith doors and helping me set my crutches to the side. I have faced judgement for being disabled before, but I felt totallywelcome at this establishment. Though the restaurant was full and there was a decent amount of chatter and music, it was notunpleasantly loud and conversation was not overly difficult. The drink menu boasts a few non-alcoholic cocktails, and as Idon’t drink, this was a most welcome surprise. I also have a large slew of dietary restrictions, which often makes mereluctant to go out and eat, but the staff was beyond accommodating. The whole menu is already gluten free, and on top of that, the moment I mentioned my other restrictions, the staff made sure to tell me what my options were and checked every step of theway to make sure I didn’t eat anything I shouldn’t. It was a truly special experience as someone who typically struggleswith my restrictions. Besides all of the phenomenal accommodations, the food was just incredible. Flavorful fish, imaginativeumami filled creations and warm perfectly seasoned rice. The restaurant recommends you order your Temaki in sets of 5, and it istruly the perfect amount of food. We finished off with the mochurros, which were advertised to us as the best churros inMontclair, and I have to completely agree. They were warm, doughy, perfectly sweet, and the lemon curd on the side was a perfecttouch. This restaurant is a true gem, especially for sushi lovers with dietary restrictions. We will ABSOLUTELY be returning. Read more

I went to Nami Nori last night and it was excellent. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by Antonio, the general manager,... who was very friendly and personable. He checked on us throughout the meal and made great recommendations. We sat at the bar andhad temaki chef Drew, it was so cool to watch him create each piece of temaki. For apps for had the crispy calamari, spicy tunadip, and wasabi cucumber tataki. I’d recommend them all, it was such a great way to start the meal. I opted to create my owntemaki set (spicy crab dynamite, tuna poke, coconut shrimp, avocado toast, and yellowtail and scallion) each piece wasphenomenal. My favorite was probably the tuna poke but honestly the flavor profile of each one was so unique and well balancedit’s hard to pick a favorite. The mochurros with lemon curd was the perfect end to an amazing meal. We’ll definitely beback very soon! Read more

I reserved two seats at 5:30 pm for my birthday dinner, which was noted in my reservation confirmation. I get there, and I... believe one of the managers stated that I was actually reserved for 5:00 pm. I showed her my reservation confirmation email thatstated 5:30 pm. Instead of apologizing for the confusion, she kept saying “that’s weird”. We get seated and our server wasgreat. The food, however, was just okay and not worth the price. The assortment of fish we ate was not fresh, especially theuni. I took a bite of the uni and couldnt finish it, so I gave the other half to my fiance, who also agreed. We have tried bothHokkaido and Santa Barbara uni all around the world, and this Santa Barbara uni was not it. I was actually afraid that I wouldget sick, but thankfully, nothing happened. That said, it was a bit strange that when one of the managers came to ask how ourdinner was, he only asked how the uni was. I told him that unfortunately, it was not fresh. He said, oh okay Ill take care ofit, thinking he may comp us for that one order, but instead, he just said he would let the chef know as he watched us awkwardlypay and tip on the machine. During our meal, one of the other managers came around to wish me happy birthday explaining that hereads all the comments that go along with the reservations. Usually, at other restaurants, we receive a complimentary dessertfor special occasions, but they just wished me happy birthday and sent us on our way. This aspect of our meal is certainly not abig deal but it just left us thinking why even have the option to add special occasions or read any of the comments accompanyingthe reservation? All in all, my birthday dinner was extremely disappointing, and we will certainly not be coming back to thislocation due to the service and value for money. Read more

Anticipated this grand opening for months and the wait was worthwhile. It was my first temaki-specialized experience and now... I’m wondering how I missed this my entire sushi-loving life! Each piece had well balanced flavors and extremely high qualityingredients. Some highlights were the shishito peppers with the smoked honey miso (was tempted to dip everything in this sauceand ask for extra to sneak home), the xo scallop temaki, the cucumber black sesame temaki (which was a non-fish temaki but hadshockingly amazing flavor and consistency that didn’t make you miss the fish) and finally the Montclair exclusive temakicannoli (a genius take on the cannoli with a chocolate like outter shell which reminded me of a luxurious version of the nowdiscontinued choco taco!) The entire Nami Nori team was beyond friendly and accommodating with impeccable service! So glad tohave this spot so close to my work place. I have a feeling I’ll be coming here way too often! Amazing experience! My husband and I both enjoyed our dinner here. Note that the entrance they want you to use is the one that... faces toward the Wellmont Theater. We had reservations at the counter and we were greeted and seated promptly by friendlystaff. The space was bright and open. The Temaki chef did an excellent job preparing our food. The corn rib appetizer had such aunique and zesty flavor that we really enjoyed. I ordered the Vegan Temaki and my husband created his own set. Wow! Iabsolutely loved the variety of temaki and blend of flavors. The mochi churros for dessert were such an added yummy bonus. Idefinitely recommend this Nami Nori location and can't wait to come back for more! Read more

Went on their opening night and, as expected, we had a lovely experience! Loved sitting at the bar having the temaki served... directly from the chefs. Drinks were delightful: highly rec the yuzu palmer. Kinda reminds me of calamansi! Make sure to orderthe top neck clams from the kitchen (now wished i orderered two of those) and the bamboo shoots. Temaki was so yummy, every biteof each piece was enjoyable. Especially enjoyed the coconut shrimp, tofu with chimichurri and spicy lobster. Will be back againand again! ???????????????? Read more
