Truly a delight of a dining experience. The wait staff was friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. The food was delicious! I had... the special which was a squid ink fettuccine with saffron sauce and seafood. My date had the lasagna which was made with spinachpasta and had plenty of meat but wasn?t heavy. We enjoyed a delicious red wine that we brought since it is BYOB and there areno reservations. I will definitely be back. Read more
Don?t listen to the lower very few bad reviews people left. This place is a solid 10/10 and a MUST go. Great prices for very... satisfying portions. This is actual traditional homeland Italian food that blows away any NYC or NJ places that I have been to(and I have been to a lot) and the gelati ?????From the owners to the staff to the food all around fantastic, we will be back! My recent discovery of this little gem in Montclair. Cozy place with nice ambiance?it is a place you would find in the nyc... village. Food is authentic, pasta is homemade and cooked perfectly. Palato Caffe and Cucina Such a lovely little quiet corner of Montclair. Yes, this is a BYOB and I definitely will remember that... going forward. This adorable Italian bistro is nothing short of perfect. The people and the food are wonderful and inviting.They treat you like a welcomed old friend. (not like family, and so much better). Something about true Italian hosts, you feelthe warmth as soon as you walk in the door and really never want to leave. The space is so well planned out and decorated with apresiding eye that you hardly realize you are in the busy bustling Montclair Center. Polpettine di Vittello. Veal meatballswith my favorite Cacio Cavallo cheese. There is nothing like a mouthwatering meatball made with fresh spices and the tomatosauce was prepared with fresh herbs that offer a taste like no other. The serving is 4 large and please pace yourself becausethere is so many other items on the menu. For my entrée Fettuccini Al Fungi. This is the velvetiest mushroom dish I have evereaten. Prepared with garlic and truffle oil. The smell is phenomenal the taste is excellent, not too cloying or bland it wasjust right! Dessert was a fancy Salame di Cioccolato. Yup, a decedent chocolate dessert shaped like salami (e) mixed withscrambled biscotti and rum. What?s not to like? From the moment you arrive to the time you leave they don?t rush you out, andeven though they are open until 10:30 or so, you will have to leave eventually.
