I have been coming to Red Eye Cafe for years. I mostly go there for brunch on Sundays, and sometimes Saturdays. The staff at... Red Eye Cafe is consistently friendly. The key is they do not have much turnover in staff which is healthy for any smallbusiness. I totally support that. This location has a very relaxed, New York City punk vibe, they are also located inMontclair, New Jersey a city with many talented budding artists. Not surprisingly, the cafe supports the local arts and localartists. If you go there enough, you see people of all types and ages from the local and even expanded community. The fooditems are also very tasty, but the main headliner is the coffee. You have to get there early to get some of the baked goods -scones, cookies and other bites. I never get their early enough, and since they are so good, they are mostly gone by 10:00am. Menu is plentiful and varied. If you want to have some good eats in a relaxed and fun atmosphere you should definitely visitRed Eye Cafe. Read more

I?ve been going here for years and the service is just truly on the decline. Some of the food is great (pancakes, some... sandwiches), the coffee is always great BUT the food wait times are out of control. Today we waited just shy of an hour for aburger and eggs. No apology or anything and no one ever checked on us. All the tables around us were having the same issues.Honestly if the food is going to take that long they should bring our bread or pastries or something. Read more

Was brought here for my first time. I believe the guy who initially took my order forgot to give it to the kitchen. Took about... 50 minutes for the food. The large iced lattes we ordered came in a smaller size and when we addressed it, he just poured itinto a larger cup with more ice. Food looked rushed and warm/cold. The cookies were pretty good though. Read more

I guess don?t go on Sundays. Our food was placed 20 min after we ordered it and that?s because I had to go and check if our food... was almost ready. The drinks were also made incorrectly. It was packed and the communication skills were poor. The food wasokay, just long wait. I?m just going to say that if you want to try this place out, go on a day that?s not busy. Read more

I LOVE Red Eye but I really wish they?d offer some UNSWEETENED alternative milks for coffee. Let me put the sugar in it if I... want it. I don?t think their customers are realizing how much sugar is in the coffee drinks their drinking. Unsweetened almond, soy, oat and coconut are readily available. (Oh and please offer Coconut milk as well). Give us the choice. Let us decidewhether we want sugar in our coffee or not. Read more

First time here, we parked on the street. Nice small cafe, they have indoor and outdoor seats. We were seated quickly, we... ordered food and coffee. The coffee came out first but the food took 40 minutes to come out. It seemed kinda busy but that wasa very long wait for food. The food was good, nice portions. Im not sure if i would go back. Was told 30 min wait. Once sat, waited another 45 min for a turkey sandwich and omelette. Ridiculous. I understand its busy but... tell customers accurate wait times if your short staff. Waiter was rude too. We got up and left after we were told another 15min. Went next door to Sals and got served in literally 5 minutes. Learn how to run a restaurant! Read more

Really love this spot; the menu, the lattes, the vibe, the staff! We had everything from the Oat Chai latte to Waffle Sandwich... (fried eggs, bacon, & spicy maple dipping sauce) to Buttermilk (blueberry) pancakes, French Toast, etc. It was all amazing andwe will definitely be back again soon! Read more
