This course has so much potential but is poorly maintained. The greens were good but patrons did not fix ball marks. Some tee... boxes had little grass. However, the flag placements were a joke. 8 out of 9 were less than 3 paces from the collar and on theside of a knoll. On several occasions my playing partners and I had 5 putts because the ball would not stop around the hole.Even the PGA sets parameters for hole placement in tournaments: at least 5 paces from the edge of the green and no more than 2feet of roll past the cup. In other words if your up hill put is a foot short it shouldn’t roll back down the hill. These pinplacements slow play and are unnecessary. Read more
For the price this course is really nice!! There is a lot of water and trouble on this course if you’re not hitting it pure. I... had one of my better ball striking days so I didn’t have to deal with all of the hazards, fortunately. The course alsowasn’t very crowded, which was really nice. Very enjoyable! Read more
The clubhouse staff was nice and attentive. The tee box had weeds on almost all of them, fairways about 60percent was dirt,... fringes weeds, dirt and an allusion of grass on some holes, sand bunkers were rocks with some sand in them so I couldn’t hitout of them so had to take move the ball out of the bunker or risk damaging my club, lastly the greens for the most part weredecent. Came here for dinner and had a lovely time. The food was great and the staff was friendly. We also had a wonderful view.
All the people were super nice and the greens are in solid shape. Unfortunately, that's about where the positives end. Cart path... is a disaster. Fairways are riddled with dirt patches. Rough is weeds. Trees need to be cut back especially on par threes. Butthe price is right and the service was great. Hope the staff can bring this course back to condition. Read more

Bringing Matt Lantrip onto the team as the new head greenskeeper/superintendent hasmade all the difference at this beautifully laid out course in the wonderful community of Montclair. The staff in the golf proshop are absolutely some of the nicest down to earth people you’ll meet at a golf course or country club. Read more
I have been a Montclair resident for over 15 years and until recently had never given the golf course a try. My only reasoning... being the negativity I had heard about the quality of the course. I decided to give the place a try about 2 months ago and can'tstop playing there! I enjoyed it so much that I brought some coworkers and we now play Montclair once a week. If you're lookingfor a flawless golf course, Montclair is not the place for you. However, if you're looking for a super fun course where eachhole is unique and you get a great mix of grades, scenery and water, Montclair has it! Club pro Chuck Harris and staff are greatpeople and the hot dogs are excellent! The fairways are very well maintained and currently some of the greens are just as niceas any other local course. What it may lack in manicure, Montclair makes up in charm. If you haven't given Montclair a try inawhile, you're missing out on a really enjoyable golf course. Read more
The price and distance from my house make this course very ideal. The staff was very nice. I arrived early and they let me get... out almost an hour early due to the forecasted rain. The course is very friendly and plays quick. However, there are a fewcosmetic improvements that are needed. They were dethatching when I played but that's not a high deal. A handful of tee boxeswere so torn up, an Castro turf mat was there to hit off of. Several bunkers were infested with weeds and rocks. And a fewgreens need some TLC as they have pretty rough bare spots. However, as I said, the price is good it's close to my house, and youdon't have to be Tiger Woods to play this course. It is great if you need to sneak in 18 quick and live nearby. Read more
