I'm never disappointed when I dine with High Point. My absolute favorite item on the menu would have to be the Lobster Bisque... and Steak Oscar. They have a wonderful selection of wine and drinks as well. I always love one of their appetizers. Top 3 for meare the slab of bacon, New Orleans shrimp or fried green tomatoes, but you can't go wrong with any one of them. If you have thepleasure of being served by Victoria, you can bet you will have the best care. Don't forget the dessert! My two favorites arethe grilled pound cake and the chocolate lava cake. Both come with vanilla ice cream and round out your dinner with the perfectamount of sweetness. Read more

When it's time to celebrate, make a memory, or just sit down for a long comfortable meal, you need to make a reservation at High... Point. There is a ton of interesting history, the restaurant itself is a converted home, likely 100+ years old. The staff willtell you all about her history. The food is amazing. We took our close friends here to celebrate birthdays, they got the Surfand Turf (lobster and filet mignon) while we had the smothered chicken and I had the ribeye (not pictured). Let's just runthrough this meal quickly. Not pictured are the salads and soups. The Lobster bisque is a creamy buttery delight, the saladsinclude the freshest of ingredients. Most of us opted for the salt covered loaded baked potato, which you can eat entirely! These are giant sized potatoes when loaded are a meal themselves. I didn't try the grits side dish, but am told it wasfantastic. The primary meal item, steak, chicken and lobster, magnificent mouth watering delights. The chef's prepared thisfood with great care and perfection. The High Point restaurant isn't cheap, but it is most certainly worth the reservation andexpense. I strongly recommend. Read more

5 stars for excellent food and service! Our waitress was very efficient. She engaged with us but didn't hover. There was light... jazz playing, and they have a beautiful courtyard with seating. The food was wonderful. We did get dessert to go and weredisappointed in the portion. The key lime pie while good was a smaller than normal pie portion. 3 stars on the actualrestaurant structure and appearance. The restaurant is in a charming old home with all the ambiance that older structuresafford. For a fine dining experience, it was odd to have a plastic tablecloth on our table. There just needs to be somemaintenance. A can light had been removed above our table and the wire was hanging down from the ceiling. The bathroom whileclean was a bit unkempt. The awning over the entryway had mold growing on it. But don't let this stop you from going andenjoying a fine dining experience! Read more

Exceptional food, lovely and intriguingly historic atmosphere, very good service. A bit pricey but well worth the experience. ... Not really a restaurant for kids but perfect for a fancy date. Read more

Really great place for date night-- romantic and delicious food. Blackberry duck and the steak Diane were both delicious. We... also had the slab of bacon appetizer which is perfectly flavored with balsamic and cabbage. The meals come with soup or salad, and I particularly liked the lobster bisque because I could detect the sherry in it. We each had drinks (the sweet peach tea,you can't taste the booze but the sazerac is nice and strong lol). For dessert, we had the chocolate lava cake, which was servedwith vanilla ice cream and was a chocolate lovers dream come true. Service was excellent and we both left stuffed. Awesome placefor a special occasion, and highly recommend a reservation as this place stays busy always. Read more

The food was amazing! We ordered the pork belly appetizer and it was divine. I ordered the duck with blackberry sauce with the... winter salad and truffle fries. It was my first time eating duck. It was delicious. All the flavors were perfectly balanced. I?mnot a salad person, but even the salad was delicious. The truffle fries were pretty good, but I can?t say that I?d order thefries again. My husband ordered the lobster and steak with the pear salad and a potato. His salad, lobster, and potato were allamazing. But to him the steak was the only thing that was lacking. Granted he?s used to grain-fed steaks, and there?s a highchance this was an organic grass-fed one. Organic steaks have a different texture and taste than a grain fed steak. For dessertwe ordered the lava cake and we weren?t disappointed! It was so good! All in all, we hope to return to High Point because theoverall experience was on point and simply amazing! ???? Wow!! I went there for the cool atmosphere, history and experience. I stayed for the food! Service was exceptional, steaks were... cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth. The cheese grits were phenomenal. Seriously, the best I have ever had. I highlyrecommend this experience to anyone interested in the Mobster history and / or wants a high end first class meal.
