Came in with pretty low expectations, as this was more of a merchandising experience based on Forest Gump, than a culinary... outing (first Bubba Gump ever!). To say the decor is very nice would be an understatement. But it turned out that they'reactually having very delicious food here! Portions are gigantic; we should literally have been here with 3 instead of with 2, tobe able to finish 4 appetisers. Finally had the chance to get this place out as one of the (self-proclaimed) biggest Forrest Gump fans. I liked how the... restaurant and menu was themed to fit the movie and whatnot. The location itself was absolutely beautiful, overlooking theocean. I was fortunate enough to get a window seat and enjoyed the view all evening. As for food, I got the Cajun crab boil.For $35, the price is hard to beat. Alaskan snow crab cluster, shrimp, sausage, potatoes, and corn, all served in a deliciousjuice for you to enjoy! Service was pretty good. We got what we needed and nothing more. Polite and respectful service, butnothing over-the-top. Good service. Food was great. Husband had the Long Island iced tea (which was STRONG ha ha ha). I had the Purple Haze.... Definitely could taste the fruit drink, not much of the alcohol which was perfect! I had Jenny's Surf and Surf. Read more
First of all Host are a key for a good first time experience. We visited this place for the first time because my husband is a... big fan. Well to start the hostess had the most rude attitude with us. We ask for a window view because the restaurant barelyopened and it was empty. She took us to our table which it was in a corner with a big wooden column covering the view we askedher can we seat to the one next so we can enjoy the view. She said with a snapy attitude "No, it is same" I said no is not thesame "she gave us the most hateful look ever. We as a turist, We behave very nice with everyone and we don't expect this kind ofattitude. So she already set the mood for the day! Not a good one. Second, it took a while to get our order in. Third, Half ofour food was okay need it more flavor. The clamp chowder was really salty, my shrimps were over cooked and was dry and not wellcleaned as well my husband food. Very disappointed for our first visit. We definitely are not going back. You can see thepictures of the empty tables from we were sitting. If you don't like crowds avoid this place. Our family love Bubba Gumps... The food as always was great. The building is one of the best we've seen so far with great... waterside views and the walls littered with Forrest Gump memorabilia. I must say a special mention to our server too, Rena sucha great personality. Read more
Unfortunately, the restaurant didn't meet our expectations. Our service staff was less than attentive, lacked basic etiquette,... forgot requested items, and then gave us an incorrect bill. There was a turnover of wait staff while we were seated whichinevitably resulted in a breakdown of communication from one shift to another. As far as the food was concerned, it was justokay. Everything is as one would expect in a chain restaurant, previously frozen, and without any significant uniqueness. Youare essentially paying for a name and some decor. Read more
