Had lunch here over the weekend... the best meal we've had in our 2 day trip to Monterey. The service was excellent, the view... was stunning. The food was heavenly... just delicious, fresh and perfectly prepared. This is a very nice place to have anintimate and peaceful meal. My only regret was I didn't save room for dessert. I read that they have excellent desserts too!Will definitely visit again next time we're in Monterey. Read more
I admit that I initially scoffed when I read on the menu that the clam chowder was "award winning". I changed my mind after the... first taste. It's objectively one of the best clam chowders I've had. I would describe it as creamy, smooth, a delicate (ifthat's possible for a chowder). The bowl is sufficient for a meal (more filling than it looks). The cup isna good complimentto something else. The bread bowl is ample. With regard to the cheesecake... I give it an 11 out of 10. Perfectly prepared calamari $16, oysters on the half shell $25, small cup of New England clam chowder $9. Impeccable and... attentive service. The views from my seat were incredible. Really loved it. However, my expectation when paying such high pricesis that I would at least get some crackers with my soup and not get charged an extra $5 for a couple of small rolls. I knowtimes are tough and at this particular place you are paying additional fees for the location. Great if you are well off. If youdon't have a ton of money to spend then there are several other places near by you can get food for much less. This place isideal for a one time special place to eat. Not for those on a limited vacation budget. Would not recommend you bring children asthis is a quiet adult venue. Read more
A great view sitting on the water with an array of dishes to choose from. About 80% are seafood, so beware if seafood isn’t... your thing. Since half of our party loved seafood it was perfect. The clam chowder is very creamy, the portions just right.Desserts beautifully presented and scrumptious! No shortage of staff, always someone there to help. Read more
From the outside, you would never know what a hidden gem this is. We were on Cannery Row looking for something to eat. We saw... the to-go cart in front and didn't think the food or ambiance of this place would have been what it was. It was a delightfulsurprise. All the staff was very pleasant and hospitable. We came for our Anniversary Dinner. Being careful of crowds Bec of Covid n we are Seniors. We came 3 yrs ago with friends n... remember the great food n the Ambiance. Came a little early, it was quiet, people distancing, chose a table by the window with abeautiful view. We were hungry for Seafood Pasta. My Hubby ordered Seafood Pasta Isabella .. shrimp, scallops in rich creamySauce. I ordered Spicy Prawn Pasta .. with wild Mushrooms, Spinach, herbs, light Tomato sauce Both dishes were delicious. The platters we ordered was delicious and plentiful for two. But I have to give only 4/5 because the crab was not fresh and was... so dry that you might think it was old and had been frozen. We have been coming here for years. Yes, it’s a bit touristy….but the BEST clam chowder around. We ate at a different... restaurant on Cannery Row the night before, sorry we did.
