One of the best breakfasts we had during our time in california. The place was packed for good reasons and we had to wait a... couple of minutes. We decided to sit outside to avoid a longer waiting time. The weather was fine so it was a good choice. Wehad eggs florentine, bacon and eggs and strawberry french toast. Everything was very good. What a great local spot. I was seated very quickly. Staff was incredible and frit. The food was in extremely large quantities... and so delicious. The pancakes are literally the size of the plate. Probably the best coffee around! The atmosphere is supercute with very eclectic decor. Definitely a must try if you're in the area. Read more
Small, unassuming spot. The restaurant has some interesting decor, but is a bit cramped for seating. There's a line out the door... constantly, which speaks to the quality of the food. I had the scramble with smoked salmon, which was really good. The hashbrowns were okay. A bit soggy in the middle, but otherwise fine. Coffee is good. My wife enjoyed her French toast. I would highly recommend this breakfast restaurant to anybody! It is very packed and busy but the quality of food is completely... worth it. I ate a French toast combo and my wife had a waffle combo. Very delicious we were overall satisfied with the wholemeal. The hot chocolate was amazing as well as the moccachino. Thank you Monterey Cafe for the excellent and fast service!???????? Read more
