Looked up a pet-friendly restaurant near Maxwell AFB and found this gem! Has outdoor seating and they offer dogs water. It?s... great. Except it?s so hot outside the patio during the summer! Either way, I enjoyed the food as best as I could because theserver is so sweet; I missed the south just because of this. They call you honey and sweetie and treat you like theirgranddaughter. I love it. The oysters were fresh and I wish I had the time to try their seafood boil which everyone seemed to beopting for. They looked amazing. Check this place out! Folks this is a really iconic place. Don?t go here expecting some fancy restaurant with valet parking, tablecloths and waiters... in white. But If you want some good fried seafood or ice cold oysters on the half shell and a laid back atmosphere with a viewof the river then yes. This is what we call a dive but it?s not a derogatory term it?s just what it is. We had raw thenpo-boys. You cannot go wrong. Sit out back on the porch. I love sundays at the oyster bar. Best place to hang and listen to great blues music. Food is wonderful and as you can see... from the photos I think the shuckers hire the band for their entertainment and we just get to enjoy it on their behalf. Read more
Came here twice in one weekend while visiting. Awesome waterfront location, ice cold beer, and fresh seafood! Both the raw and... steamed oysters were perfect. The patio has a view of the Alabama river and is dog friendly. If we are ever back in Montgomerywe will be here 100 percent. Read more
Honestly, probably the best seafood I?ve had in 10 years, and I used to work at an upscale seafood restaurant. The shrimp tasted... like buttery lobster, and the oysters were the largest and the freshest I?ve ever had. Excellent fried okra and coleslaw aswell. Fun local Montgomery restaurant on the banks of the Alabama river with views of downtown skyline. There was a live Blues band on... Sunday so a cover charge to enter. Nice large outdoor patio and very good seafood selection. The gumbo was also very good andI'm picky about gumbo. Read more
Service was great. Didnt get 4 stars because 1- all disposable items. Cups, plates, silverware, shot glasses. Dont like feeling... like im at a picnic not to mention the waste it is. Not horrible tho Food was almost perfect. Beer cold and good, fries andhish puppies good. Catfish was cooked well also, only complaint was had a slight weird aftertaste. We decided to try this place based strictly on the fact that it's off the regular restaurant beaten path and it looked really... divey. It definitely wasn't a disappointment in either regard. Plates and cups are plastic and disposable for easy clean up Iassume. But the food was great!! He had a cheeseburger that ( I kid you not) that tasted like it came right off the backyardBBQ. FANTASTIC!! I had the seafood combo platter. I discovered quickly that it is a two person meal. The shrimp was amazing. The rest of the meal was very good, too.
