Always good food for lunch and dinner. So many favorites can't pick one except maybe the key lime pie that looks like a mini... key lime cake. Sweet heat popcorn shrimp appetizer is fantastic. Love the music. Read more
This hidden gem seems to be on a circuit of restaurants frequented by locals and I got to see why. Great atmosphere and decor. I... think Jan was probably punching above her weight class when she wrangled the chef. Of course had to try the seafood and it wasdelicious. Topped it off with a bread pudding i thought had to be shipped in direct from NOLA. Bartender was a young kid whogave as good as he got from both young and old. The only complaint I had was that I was so absorbed into the beach feel that iwas disappointed not to see the shoreline when I opened the doors to leave. Will definitely have to keep my eye out for allthose flamingos to stop in again. Read more
We read good reviews about this restaurant and decided to go. From the road Jan's looks like a humble roadside restaurant that... would not necessarily catch my eye while driving by. Yet the fried pickle appetizer, the patty melt and the shrimp sampler wereall very good and filling. One could fill up on the fried pickles alone. Thanks for the great food and service. Read more
I visited while passing through Montgomery and I wish I could have stayed a little longer, just to visit Jan's. The food was... delicious, atmosphere (and decor) inviting, and service incredible. The restaurant seems to be a real pillar of thecommunity. The menu has plenty of options, covering most dietary needs that come to mind. Healthy choices were there, too. Ihad the Greek salad and some broccoli. The ingredients were fresh and prepared well. Drinks come in huge glasses; much neededafter a long journey. The person with me enjoyed fried pickles and a BLT, all of which were fantastic. Saw a lot of clean platesaround, too. Read more

I was visiting family from out of town & we decided to go here. Our server was very sweet & attentive. Our drinks were quick to... be refilled & our food came out quickly. Outside of that, we were a bit disappointed. My dad & I both got the fish basket w/anapp of fried pickles. The pickles barely had any breading on them at all & just tasted like we were eating hot pickles. Thefried fish was really tasty but I didn?t like the breading on it because it was really salty. My dad liked the breading sopreference here. I had a side of fried green tomatoes which I normally really like & was excited about. The breading on it wasperfect for me but the tomato was very under cooked & still pretty hard. I?ll end this with the positive that the front area isdecorated really cute for Christmas & there are a lot of tv?s so if you?re wanting to drink and watch a game, this place mightbe ok. Read more
