I stopped by to get something to go. My sister and hair stylist said the food was good. Well, I ordered the chicken fried steak... which was in their list of favorites. It did NOT disappoint. I loved the seasoning on the steak. It gave it a nice addedkick! I got green beans (they were just so-so) and the baked sweat potato (big and great flavor). First time to try this place. We went there for my Bday! I had a Apple walnut salad with grilled shrimp, blue cheese crumbles,... toasted walnuts, grapes, cranberries with an awesome balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Best part were the last six bites of all thestuff at bottom of bowl. A large portion for sure. Best salad I've had anywhere. They brought me a free banana pudding for myBday. It was decadent! My son took me here for lunch. From the outside, it doesn't really impress. Inside, a good, down-home atmosphere. On this date,... an interaction with customers disclosed a clientele of wonderful people. Everyone was so polite! Our waitress was great, theservice was great and the food was outstanding!! The pulled-pork sandwich plate was amazing! You must try the sweet potatofries. We both had the pulled-pork sandwich plate with sweet tea and the bill was $34 & change, less tip. I stopped in for a late lunch. I had the Ultimate Combo with the Steak Soup and the Double Decker Club. The food was delicious... and plentiful. My only complaint is the size of the double decker club. I choose to take it apart and eat it in bites because itwas stacked tall with yummy meats and cheeses. The service was top notch. I am looking forward to my next visit and trying oneof their amazing deserts. ?????? Read more
Our waitress was terrific!!! The person dinning with me enjoyed the chips and dip but for me the chips were super hard. The road... kill chopped beef with mushrooms, onions, gravy and cheese was good, I enjoyed it. I also liked the Mac n cheese and the friedokra. I didn?t like the meatloaf it had no seasoning just tomato sauce poured on top. The mashed potatoes were cold and thebrown gravy was super think as though it had been sitting for a while. Great service. Down home cooking. Everything was great and cooked perfectly to order. The beef ribs late in the evening were... tough and dried out but the brisket was juicy and full of flavor. Overall everyone enjoyed their meal and the air was good andcold. Highly recommend if you are in the area. It is even worth a drive if you are in the area and looking for a new place toeat. Read more
Great place, good food, could have gotten an easy 5. First time visit, greeted by friendly staff, respectful customers, and... while waiting for the rest of my party, the sweet tea was on point. The reason I am not giving a 5 stars is that all the food,from the onion rings that should have, could have knocked me off my feet was, as was all food at room temperature. Nothing cameout hot or warm, including the gravy for the chicken fried steak that could have had me yelling yum. But it was clear all thishomemade food had been made ahead, set out, and then placed in a plate for table delivery. The batter on the onion rings andchicken fried steak had no crunch, because it was cold or room temp. I could tell it would have been amazing if it had beenprepared, then brought to the table. Will I drive two hours again...maybe...only if I am in the area. This was my birthdaylunch. Still a great place...but no effort...but most people don't care, and just want stuff put in front of them to shoveldown, so go and try it. Read more
