One of the worst meals ever. Veg & Shrimp. The shrimp were those tiny canned Shrimp smothered in a tasteless sauce with mushy... veggies. Did you ever get canned shrimp in a Chinese meal? They were as tiny as a pinky nail on a baby and rationed like theywere gold. It went right in the trash. They owed me ribs because last time I bought there, they had been boiled but had nosauce. This time they were even worse. The owner said they were too expensive and he was losing money. I told him take it offthe menu or serve it correctly. That is a problem he needs to solve. So he gave me a free order today. I would not even givethem to my dog as they were most likely the poorest quality he could find. No BBQ sauce, just boiled and all fat. No meat at alljust that soft white, shimmery fat that can make you vomit. Years ago when this place opened it was great. It must have changedhands. I was living in another State and returned a month ago. This place is not worth it. Save your money. We have some goodAsian Restaurants in Montpelier now. Scratch this place from your list. You should never settle for this kind of food when thereare many good places to eat in town. Read more
I don't know if China Star is under new management, I have been in a couple years, pre Covid. But wow, something has changed. ... The sweet and sour chicken, was almost all bread, no chicken ... Kids didn't eat it. The seasame chickens was I don't knowwhat. Maybe pork? It was tough and chewy and stringy. Not tender like chicken used to be. And the pork fried rice was aboutas bland as could be. Not sure I will give them a second change or not. This was pretty much $50 in the garbage. Read more
Why would anyone want to eat there. 0 stars.... Never gave anyone 0 stars. Sucked and over priced. Threw up 3 times. Main... problem is nothing is open after 9 pm so your forced to go there. Read more
The food was atrociously vile. The General Tso chicken was with out chicken, and was filled with water-logged dough. The crab... rangoons were putrid. Felt like puking after my tongue touched it. I have never had food worse than this in my entire life. Read more
We have eaten here so many times. How ever I will never eat there again. We order take out and got 2 different types of... chicken and both tasted like fish. I called and they of course denied it. No attempt to make it right. Poor business!!! Read more
Nice ?no frills? simple place like anywhere in Southeast Asia or Greater China!! Nice Owners!! Seems mostly a takeout joint. I... come here to take/out dumplings and then we make a great soy-vinegar-chili sauce at home to go with a glass of wine (as theyserve no beer or wine here). The food is quite decent and freshly prepared at each order!! The hot & sour soup is excellent andso is their shrimp with lobster sauce. Read more
Good food and fast service. If you are in the mood for Chinese takeout then this is not a bad option, especially with being in... the middle of VT. I know most people won't agree but Chinese food is comfort food to me, always reminds me of NYC. PS. NYCChinese food is #1 in my opinion. Read more
Really like the people here. Generous portions, my favorite veggie fried rice for miles and miles. They have always accomodated... us when we have people with allergies in our group, helping us to choose safe options. And they're open later hours when therest of the town is rolled up for the night. Read more
